INTRO:
Good Morning,
It is great seeing all of you this early in the morning… and I truly get excited that you guys are here for a message from God’s Word…
SHARE TESTIMONY - SHORT
Before we dove into God’s Word I wanted to share a little bit about who I am and my life…
I do not know you guys… and I figured it may be best for me to share my story and how God has changed my life…
TRANSITION - GOD’S WORD:
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (ESV)
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 is telling us that All of Scripture… from Genesis (the beginning) to Revelation (the end)… is from God… and that Word of God is capable of preparing you for any circumstance or task that God has for you…
That is why I love God’s Word… because it is relevant for me today for anything that I am going through or facing…
TRANSITION - WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?
Luke 9:18–20 (ESV)
Now it happened that as he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” And they answered, “John the Baptist. But others say, Elijah, and others, that one of the prophets of old has risen.” Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”
Peter was one of Jesus’ 12 disciples…
Peter would have seen Jesus perform miracles and would have had a front row seat at the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
And Jesus asks the disciples… who does the crowd say that I am?
In other words, Jesus is asking, what does the world say about me? What does everyone else think of me?
And after he asks that question, he asks them a question that we all will have to answer for ourselves… which is… But who do you say that I am?
We all have to answer this question in our own heart… who do we say that Jesus is?
Is he a good teacher?
Was he a nice guy?
Was he someone who just had good life lessons?
Or was he truly the Son of God and the Savior of the world?
Is he the one we can place or faith and hope in for the forgiveness of our sins?
I believe that Jesus is the Christ… the Son of the living God…
And my prayer for you is that you would be able to say that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and the Savior of the World
