This week we read about David's first stop after fleeing from Saul. He stops in Nob to see Ahimelech. We are faced with an interesting question: does God condone lying when it preserves human life. We must come to the careful conclusion that unjust means do not justify even good ends. God still shows mercy, however, and David is graced with the bread he needs. Seek first the kingdom of God, Christian, and God will provide.
