You and I face pressures everyday to conform our lives to the expectations of the world around us. Paul knew that the only Judge he had to please was the Lord Jesus.

Be Faithful

Paul sought to be faithful to the Word of God. He wanted to truthfully and accurately communicate the good news of Jesus Christ.
Though he did defend his apostleship, he was not seeking the praise of men, but the reward of the Lord.
Galatians 1:10 NASB95
10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
“We who live before the Audience of One can say to the world: ‘I have only one audience. Before you I have nothing to prove, nothing to gain, nothing to lose.’” - Os Guinness
Two keys:
Be faithful to the Word of God.
Be faithful to the Work the Lord has given you in service of others.

Live Hopeful

We can also fall into a trap by thinking that our service towards the Lord is in vain.
Trust the Lord to be the final judge. He knows the heart of each person.
That which is given to Christ is never a waste!
Mark 14:3–6 NASB95
3 While He was in Bethany at the home of Simon the leper, and reclining at the table, there came a woman with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume of pure nard; and she broke the vial and poured it over His head. 4 But some were indignantly remarking to one another, “Why has this perfume been wasted? 5 “For this perfume might have been sold for over three hundred denarii, and the money given to the poor.” And they were scolding her. 6 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; why do you bother her? She has done a good deed to Me.
There is great hope in knowing that your Savior is the final judge! Our justification comes not from our works, but from the Lord. He also gives the final reward.
The only way you can have this hope is if you have trusted Christ yourself!
