In the 1960s TV show “Lost in Space” Robot would warn Danger, Danger anytime there was imminent trouble.
Hebrews 10:26–31 NASB95
26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Well all sin is wilful.
(If we go on sinning willfully)
Denying what you know to be true:

Perseverance of the Saints

John 10:27–30 NASB95
27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 “I and the Father are one.”
Romans 8:38–39 NASB95
38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Endurance is needed

Ephesus:
Revelation 2:7 NASB95
7 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’
Smyrna:
Revelation 2:11 NASB95
11 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.’
Pergamum:
Hidden manna Name written on white stone
Jesus talking about His return:
Matthew 24:13 NASB95
13 “But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
Mark 13:13 NASB95
13 “You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
2 Timothy 2:12 NASB95
12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
The two ideas in one passage:
Colossians 1:21–23 NASB95
21 And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, 22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach— 23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.
The person with true saving faith in Christ will receive eternal life.
ALSO
The person with true saving faith in Christ will remain until the end.
Is there a profession of faith that is NOT a saving faith?
Titus 1:15–16 NASB95
15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.
How do we know our faith is a saving faith?
Hebrews 10:32–34 NASB95
32 But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, 33 partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated. 34 For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one.
Spiritual Markers:
“That’s wasn’t me but the Holy Spirit working through me.”
The other side:
We remember our sin and the peace we felt when we received His forgiveness.
You don’t know if you can do something until you do it……
But once you do, your confidence grows.
Do you remember leaning to ride a motorcycle?
Spiritual markers give us confidence:
Hebrews 10:35 NASB95
35 Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
Hebrews 10:36 NASB95
36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
Christians are warriors not weaklings.
Ephesians 6:13 NASB95
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
The writer of Hebrews then quotes Habakuk
Hebrews 10:37–38 NASB95
37 For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. 38 But My righteous one shall live by faith; And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.
LOOK AT ME:
Hebrews 10:39 NASB95
39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.
