We Tuned our Hearts, Prepped for the Journey today we’ll hopefully find rest.
Joke: People in Athens don’t wake up before noon;
Dawn is tough on Greece
Desire to teach you a little and help you apply Scripture:

Matthew 11:25-30

v. 25: Some things are hidden
Today [post-Pentecost], revealed via the Holy Spirit
John 16:8–14 ESV
[Holy Spirit] will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.... he will guide you into all the truth...He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
v. 27: the Son reveals the Father
John 14:6 ESV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Ephesians 2:8 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Romans 10:9 ESV
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
v. 28: the Son gives rest
Same as Prov. 9:1-6
Proverbs 9:1–6 ESV
Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars. She has slaughtered her beasts; she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table. She has sent out her young women to call from the highest places in the town, “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks sense she says, “Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”
v. 29-30: Take his yoke, its easy (Gr. word for easy is also translated good, kind, benevolent)
Yoke is a device that was placed on the shoulders of animals that would pull a plow
Yoke is often a symbol for submission and slavery
When the law was understood as a way of meriting salvation, it became a “yoke of slavery” (Gal. 5:1). (RSB:ESV2015E)
Galatians 5:1 ESV
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Viewed as a heavy burden due to Scribes’ oral tradition and the sinfulness of humanity
His yoke is easy
its easy because he is gentle and lowly
its easy because He paid the price; our price
Rom. 8:1-8
His burden is light
it the task/ job
Matthew 28:18–20 ESV
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
the Great commission
Love God and love Neighbor (Matt. 22:34-40)
How often do we think what God requires from us is too much?
Why do we struggle to “do all things to the glory of God”?
Why do we struggle to understand what He’s saying to us?

Ps. 25: Answers the why and provides the solution.

1) Our Focus has shifted
5) Our Willingness has waned
14) Our Fear and reverence have diminished
16-18) Our Comfort has increased
21) Our Patience has grown thin
Do you desire to rest in him?
Are you believe His yoke is easy and His burden light?
Has your focus, willingness, etc changes?
