What is the “Rock of Revelation”?

POINT 1: The Rock is not Peter, But the Revelation of who God is.

GOD sent Jesus to come teach and Save us! All He wants in return is for us to know who He is!

THE ROCK OF REVELATION IS KNOWING WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST.

1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Point 2: When we understand the Rock of Revelation. We do the right things for the right reason.

Endured: Betrayal, slavery, false accusation, and imprisonment, yet he stayed faithful.

Resisting Potiphar’s Wife

English Standard Version Chapter 39

Genesis 39:7-8

THE RIGHT THING: Joseph wouldn’t sleep with Potiphar’s wife.

THE RIGHT REASON: Joseph honored God

Genesis 39:9 “He is not greater in this house than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?””

Because Joseph did the right thing for the right reason.. God had a bigger plan…

Joseph had favor in prison, allowing him to still Serve well.

English Standard Version Chapter 39

21 But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners who were in the prison.

THE RIGHT THING: Joseph made the best out of prison and allowed God to use him by interpreting Dreams.

THE RIGHT REASON: Joseph honored God and wanted to be used by him

JOSEPH GETS PROMOTED by Pharaoh because of it! : Because of his faithfulness.

Joseph was then is a spot where he got to confront his brother.

Genesis 50:15–21 ESV

When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “It may be that Joseph will hate us and pay us back for all the evil that we did to him.” So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, “Your father gave this command before he died: ‘Say to Joseph, “Please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, because they did evil to you.” ’ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him. His brothers also came and fell down before him and said, “Behold, we are your servants.” But Joseph said to them, “Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.” Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

THE RIGHT THING: Even though Joseph was betrayed and had a hard life moving forward, he forgave his brothers!

THE RIGHT REASON: He understood who he was in Christ. God gave him a greater purpose.

Genesis 50:20 “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”

SINCE JOSEPH DID THE RIGHT THING FOR THE REASON, IT ALLOWED GOD TO NAVIGATE HIS LIFE!

-JOSEPH WAS IN A HORRIBLE SPOT BUT GOD STILL USED HIM

-IN THE ALL TIME LOWEST POINT IN HIS LIFE BUT GOD WAS THERE.

POINT 3: Our church will do the right thing for the right reasons.

EVEN IN THE HARD TIMES AT OUR CHURCH, WE WILL ALLOW GOD TO MOVE!

WHY?

-We understand where our source comes from.

-It allows God to move in our Church, just like Joseph!

-Jesus’ People are on the receiving side.

JESUS REMINDS US!

Matthew 6:1-4

IF WE DO THINGS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS…

-PEOPLE WILL BE SAVED

-PEOPLE WILL BE BAPTIZED

-PEOPLE WILL BE BLESSED BECAUSE OF THEIR GENEROSITY

-PEOPLE WILL BUILD A TRIBE AROUND THEM

-PEOPLE WILL SERVE AND IDENTIFY THERE PURPOSE!

Don’t try to please me church. Trust me I am impossible to please and it isn’t worth anything!

INSTEAD let your generosity, serving, and dedication go the Lord! LISTEN TO SCRIPTURE…

If you are here trying to please me or anyone else you are FOOLISH, BUT when you build on who Jesus is you are covered and sealed by HIM! NO WEAPEN SHALL PROSPER!

I wonder if there is someone here that would be praise God in this moment for how He sees you!?!

-You are His Child (1 John 3:1 He does not see you as a failure instead he sees you part of His family)

-You are Righteuos Royalty (He doesnt see your sins, he sees Christ’s Righteousness covering you)

-God sees you as Chosen and Called (John 15:16 You are not overlooked- you are chosen with a purpose)

-God sees you as Strong and Capable (you may feel weak, but God sees you as empowered through the Holy Spirit)

-God sees you as His Masterpiece (you aren't an accident- you were designed by God with intentionality)

-God sees you through eye of love, not condemnation ( The enemy may try to make you feel condemned, but God sees you through the lens of Grace!)

-God sees you as a Victor, not a Victim (No matter what you’ve faced, GOD SEES YOU AS VICTORIOUS!)

GOD SEES YOU THROUGH JESUS!

BUT IS THIS HOW YOU SEE YOURSELF???

If we don’t do the right thing for the right reason…

POINT 4: WHEN pressure comes it will cause us to abandon the calling on our Lives.

When you understand how God sees you, things begin to seem small!

TRUTH: EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US IS GOING THROUGH A STORM! LIKE RIGHT NOW…

THIS WEEK: The enemy attacked me in my family, health, and finances…

For you it may be…

-Struggling with Favor at your Job.

-Maybe you are looking for a another Job.

-Marriage is in shambles

-Maybe you are battling with Health Issues.

THE ONLY WAY TO GET THROUGH THE STORM IS BY KNOWING THE ROCK OF REVELATION OF WHO GOD IS AND THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT YOU HAVE!

I want us to take some time here to reflect….
