Romans 12:1-8
Romans 12:1-8
1. So then, my brothers and sisters, because of God’s great mercy to us I appeal to you: offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to him. This is the true worship that you should offer.
2. Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God—what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.
3. And because of God’s gracious gift to me I say to every one of you: do not think of yourself more highly than you should. Instead, be modest in your thinking, and judge yourself according to the amount of faith that God has given you.
4. We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions.
5. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body.
6. So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God’s message, we should do it according to the faith that we have;
7. if it is to serve, we should serve; if it is to teach, we should teach;
8. if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others should do it generously; whoever has authority should work hard; whoever shows kindness to others should do it cheerfully.
Work hard and do not be lazy. Serve the Lord with a heart full of devotion.
The first thing Paul says serve God to the fullest
Then he says don’t be like everyone else who don’t serve God as He needs to be served. Let God do what God does, he is in the transformation business.
This is why he says to do a self-evaluation of who you are and where you are currently at spiritually and mentally
Because it is important to understand where you are, so you can be built and be used properly by the Lord.
Each and everyone here today are called to something great in the house and for the Kingdom.
Everyone here has specifics gifts and talents that contributes towards the mission of LMWC
Some examples are
Preaching, Serving. Teaching. Encouraging, Giving/Sharing. Leadership
Authority - All of us have authority because we are Ambassadors of the Kingdom 2 Corinthians 5:20 “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.””
We are called to work hard due to the authority we have according to Romans 12:11 “Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.”
We are called to show kindness but do it cheerfully, not because we have to put on a facade cause Christians supposed to show love, this is something that should come naturally
My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.
Love your enemies and do good to them; lend and expect nothing back. You will then have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God. For he is good to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Do all your work in love.
Again, the Lord is reminding us that everyone who calls LMWC home is important to that mission
This is not a simply “make you feel good about yourself reminder” but a reminder that we have a mission and each and every one accepted the call.
With that call we have responsibilities and not be afraid or intimidated because we have what we need in this church from resources (building, equipment, etc to leaders and servants to get the job done.
As we grow as a unit so will our resources and leaders as our mission will evolve and we will be prepared.
God gave me my confirmation about this Word
Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.
The Lord is saying we must believe that we are important Him and we are called to do something great for Him if it’s being a
Toilet Sanitation Specialist, Parking Lot Director, Greeter, Usher, Media and Sound Team, Sanctuary Maintenance Team, Ministry Leader, Deacon or in a 5-Fold Ministry Office
Today is the day take this Word captive and place in your prayer daily
When we come to Him boldly with confidence saying “You have chosen me to do something great please reveal to me what I need to work on or what have you given me now to share with others”
He will respond with love and clarity
And that is what we need in these times as we are in Year 11 and going into year 12 of LMWC Mission of revival for our region as the first part of our task.
Chudi confirmed this prayer through his message on Sunday and there is a prayer that is placed inside of him that must be released.
Remember this verse as you pray 1 Corinthians 4:20
For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of words but of power.
