Galatians 6

Vs. 1...… “Overtaken”......... caught or detected.......
“Fault”......... trespass or transgression
“Restore”........ mend.....
“Ye which are spiritual”.....Galatians 5:16 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” ......Galatians 5:25 “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Spirit of Meekness......(Fruit of the Spirit)......This is driven home in verse 3......
Consider yourself........Matthew 7:3–5 “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”
Vs. 2........Bear one another’s burdens.......Philippians 2:4 “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.”......1 Corinthians 13:5–7 “Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
the law of Christ......John 13:14–15 “If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.” .....John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
Vs. 3.........Luke 18:11 “The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.”
deceives himself......2 Timothy 3:13 “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” ....
John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
Vs. 4.......… “But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another.”.........Worry about your works and not others, so if you are boasted of, then it will be because of your work not you tending to others.
Vs. 5......Luke 11:46 “And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.” ........Those scribes and Pharisees and Alabamians and others more worried about the violations of others and they will not touch anybody else’s burdens!
Vs. 6...........Some really want this to speak to material compensation for the teacher, it very well maybe, but so many have manipulated the Bible for their own gain, I am not sure if that is what it means. Most commentators say that this is a difficult verse.
The word “communicate” means to share or do together with......Maybe let the teacher see that what you have learned is visible in your life.
Vs. 7.......God is not mocked.......Whatever a man sows that shall he reap......this is an agriculture principle, which is universal law.
Vs. 8.......Sow to the flesh, you reap corruption..........most believe that this would be God’s wrath, which is manifest in a few forms......Hell, which is eternal wrath......some call eschatological wrath which is the bowls of wrath in the day of the Lord........Wrath of abandonment......which is basically turning the sinners over to the destruction that sin causes...........Consequential wrath, which is basically if gladly participate in evil, you will receive evil..
Sow to the Spirit.......you will receive everlasting life....not just quantity but quality.....John 4:14 “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Vs. 9.....Do not be weary in living for Christ.....even when the struggles are great because it is worth it all!!!!!!
