My Story
My Story
When I was a kid I went through a lot of stuff. I had lost family members, I lost friends who passed away. My crush had rejected me. I felt a lot of pain in my life and I thought that the best way to “heal” was to ignore the pain and to bottle it all inside of me. I fed myself this lie for years and I suffered the consequences of living like a wounded animal. I pushed people away, I refused to get help and find any healing. It's essential to recognize that burying our sadness doesn't make it disappear; it simply festers inside us, waiting to emerge later. Like David, who poured out his heart in the Psalms, we must embrace vulnerability and seek healing through honest expression of our pain.
We have to understand that even in our pain Jesus understands it. He wants us to bring our pains and our burdens to him so he can comfort us. Like the healer of our soul that he is.
Gods story
Gods story
Our story begins in John 11:22-26
But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Here we see that Lazarus, Jesus’ friend who had died before Jesus got to town. Despite the sadness of this situation, He knew there was a bigger picture and plan in place. But still “Jesus wept”. Jesus not only felt all of the emotions we feel, but more than likely he experienced it more intensely than we can possibly imagine. Although Jesus was surrounded by sadness, He kept his eyes set on the joy that was to come. He suffered everything He had to suffer so that you and I could experience joy and be set free from sin.
Your story
Your story
It can be easy to be stuck in a pattern of sadness. Especially when it seems like EVERYTHING continues to get worse and worse. BUT we have to remember that Jesus can see the bigger picture and we should trust him with our bigger picture. Fully give Jesus whatever is crushing you and feels like you cant get past. Your anxieties and your fears tremble at his name. Lets do ourselves a favor and unload all of sadness and our pain onto Jesus. He can and will take the weight that feels too heavy for you to carry.
