Mark 4:26-29, 30-32
The kingdom of God is as if a man went out and scattered seed on the ground, which ground Jesus previously talks of 4 types of soil conditions.
1). the wayside the ground that has no soil, the condition of the heart is not ready to receive. So because its heart is hard it cannot hear and because of lack of understanding the enemy comes and snatches it away.
2) The seed that falls in rocky places is one who receives the word with joy but because of persecution and tribulation that person because of the word falls away.
3). The seed that falls in thorns, this is one who receives the word but the thorns sprang up, the cares and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word that was heard.
4) the last is word that is received by the hearer, this person the seed falls on good soil a heart willing to receive the word a willingness for the truth to be received and they understand it for some they bear fruit produce 30, 60,and 100 fold.
Jesus then goes on to say that the person who sows the seed goes to sleep and when he has awaken the seed has grown, interesting that the sower scatters seed not knowing which seed will grow or even if it will grow, but he awakens to the seed with sprout not knowing how
