Theme: Joseph reveals himself to his brothers

Joseph had the ministry of the bleeding heart. Because he had bled now he could bless!

At the beginning of this chapter…

There was a CONNECTION: Joseph had made himself known. (v.1)

There was a CONVICTION: they were troubled at his presence. (v.3)

There was a CONVERSION: they were told by Joseph to Come near to me. (v.4)

Now that they were close, Joseph sent them to tell Jacob and bring him also.

Some parting instructions:

Victory Over Things. Regard not your stuff (v.20)

Victory Over Travel. Joseph gave them provision (v.21)

Victory Over Trousers. Gave each man changes of raiment (v.22)

Victory Over Time. And to his father he sent (v.23) enough for the journey to his new home.

Now we see the MANDATES in missions.

I. We See The Soulwinners. v.25

They went up out of Egypt

II. We See The Sinners. v.26

for he believed them not

III. We See The Scriptures. vs.27-28

The Scriptures must be preached. v.27a

they told him all the words of Joseph

The Scriptures must be believed. v.27b

the spirit of Jacob revived

Psalm 85:6 “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”

The Scriptures must be enough. v.28

It is enough

Exodus 36:5 “And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.”
