Judges 6:12
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
Context:
The Midianites had conquered Israel and they were in bondage. vs.1-5
They cried unto the Lord. vs.6-7
The Lord sent a prophet to tell them in v.10 “ye have not obeyed my voice.” vs.8-10
In v.8 when the prophet starts to speak, notice the 13th word is “Egypt” which is a type of the world.
The Lord calls a deliverer. vs.11-12
The deliverer was threshing wheat by the winepress. v.11
Gideon questioned whether God was with them by pointing out his circumstances. v.13
God tells him to go anyway as he is now sent. v.14
Gideon points out his inadequacies. v.15
“poor and needy”. The Lord majors using folks that do not have the means, so god Himself can get the glory.
The Lord tells him “I will be with thee.” v.16
As a result of God’s call and Gideon’s confidence in the Lord he was given these ASSIGNMENTS:

“tarry ye” (Luke 24:49) before “go ye” (Matthew 28:19). v.18
God gave Gideon peace after he obeyed. vs.23-24

He was to tear down an idolatrous altar. vs.25-27
The Jews turned against him until his daddy said, “Will ye plead for Baal?…if he be a god, let him plead for himself” (v.31). vs.28-32

Do you know there is a God but you are enslaved to someone or some entity that has conquered you?
Have you been challenged to believe God over what you can see?
Will you follow God’s words because you believe He can do what He said?
