The Fruit of the Spirit and the Crucified Christian (Gentleness)(Psalm 18:30-35)

The Character of Gentleness

Gentleness is derived from the word “genteel” which means “well born of a good family or respectable birth.”
If you are born again, you are part of the finest family that has ever been!
You’re first birth may be messed up and your family tree all out of whack, but when you got born again, you got into the greatest family!
Your first birth, you’re just a peasant. But your second birth, your made a child of the King!
Gentleness speaks of being mild in temperament (behavior), sweet in disposition (quality of character), and being given to kindness and tenderness in the treatment of others. Having the manners of well bred people. Being raised from the vulgar.
Although we must always stand for truth in declaring the word of God, the Lord would have us do it with a gentle heart toward those that are lost.
We cannot show gentleness to others without yielding to the Holy Spirit of God.
