Opening/welcome
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here in God's presence to witness and to celebrate the marriage of Kimmie and Dustin, and to ask God to bless them so that they may be strengthened for their life together. We are called to rejoice in their happiness, and find in their love a reason to renew our own commitments to those whom are near and dear to each of us.
Let us Pray
Presentation of Bride:
Question: Who gives this woman to be married to this man?
Answer: “We do.”
ADDRESS
Love is a miraculous gift, and a wedding is a celebration of that miracle, and that is why we are here today. We are gathered together to be overjoyed for, and with, Kimmie and Dustin, who are so wonderfully suited to one another that it is a pure delight for the rest of us to see how happy two people can be. They are the example of the love that in its light-heartedness dissolves the notion. We are here to celebrate, witness, and be glad because these two are forging a new bond today.
God gave us marriage for the full expression of love between a man and a woman so that husband and wife may cherish and delight in one another; comfort and help each other in sickness, trouble and sorrow; provide for each other; pray for and encourage each other in the things that pertain to God; and live together faithfully all the length of their days.
Marriage involves mutual commitment and responsibility. You as a couple will share together in the responsibilities and commitments of building a home. You will share also in the joys and sorrows of life. But when companions share a sorrow; the sorrow is cut in half, and when you share a joy; the joy is doubled.
The Bible teaches that marriage is to be a permanent relationship of one man and one woman freely and totally committed to each other for life. Our Lord declared that a man shall leave his father and his mother and unite with his wife in the building of a home. The home is built on love which is best portrayed in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians which says:
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
According to this passage of scripture, love is action rather then emotion. Act in the fullness of love and you will love one another. Show each other kindness, be patient with one another, don’t hold a grudge and seek the best for each other. Then and only then will you truly love one another.
Dustin and Kimmie, you are to dedicate your home to God.
You are to take God’s word, the Bible, for your guide. Commit yourselves to each other’s well being; remain faithful physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And may God watch over your household and bless this union.
The Bible declares that the two shall become one flesh.
And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
Scripture records that God put Adam to sleep and took a rib from his side and used it to fashion Eve.
Eve, As Matthew Henry said, “Not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.”
And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Today, God’s intentions for marriage hasn’t change.
Today, as you make vows to each other, you are also making vows to God to become one from this day forward.
You arrived here today as 2 people, you will leave as one. Every day from this day forward, you must remember that you are now are part of something bigger than just yourself. You must live for this family being formed today.
“I love you.”
NOTHING IS EASIER THAN SAYING WORDS. NOTHING IS HARDER, THAN LIVING THEM, DAY AFTER DAY.
But we have this assurance in Psalm 127:1-2
Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.
God not only formed the first family, Jesus choose a wedding to be the setting for His first miracle. He quoted the verses from
Genesis we have already read re-emphasizing that God’s design is for a man and woman to join as one in marriage.
You not only have your love and God to help you keep the vows you take today, but you also have these family and friends who serve as your witnesses.

Wedding Prayer (the Minister)
Let us pray.
Most merciful and gracious God, in whom we live and move and have our being,
bestow upon these your servants the seal of your approval, and benediction;
granting unto them grace to fulfill, with pure and steadfast affection, the vow
and covenant between them made. Guide them together, we ask, in the way of
justice and peace, that, loving and serving you, with one heart and mind, all
the days of their life, they may be abundantly enriched with the tokens of your
everlasting favor, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Congregation Song:
1 I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from its sunshine,
For its skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.
Refrain:
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow,
And I know who holds my hand.
2 Every step is getting brighter,
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden's getting lighter;
Every cloud is silver lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye,
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky. [Refrain]
3 I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the path that be my portion,
May be through the flame or flood,
But His presence goes before me,
And I'm covered with His blood. [Refrain]
Pronouncement of Marriage
Then the Minister shall say to all who are present:
By the authority committed unto me as a Minister of the Gospel, I declare
that Kimmie and Dustin are now Husband and Wife, according to the ordinance of
God, and the law of the State of Texas; in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
“Whom therefore God has joined together, let no one put asunder. “
Benediction
The grace of Christ attend you, and the love of God surround you, the Holy Spirit keep you, that you may live in faith, abound in hope, and grow in love, both now and forevermore.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face to shine upon you and gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace this day and for the rest of your lives. Amen
