The Outcome

Read Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13 NASB 95
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

ALL means all

Anything we bring to Christ He will give back to us better that it was

Anything we hold back from Christ is just a “filthy rag”

Through

Means moving in both directions

All things that go to Christ

All things that come from Christ

Strengthens

In the Old Testament many of the heroes were strengthened by items: Samson’s Hair, David’s Sling, Gideon’s army and the gourdes, Moses rod, etc.

Our strength comes from the power of Jesus

In our weakness He makes us strong.

Your story(ies)

Philippians 4:14-18 Paul relates his stories of times when Christ strengthened him because he couldn’t find the strength on his own.

What stories do you have of times when Christ gave you strength that you didn’t have to fight battles in your life?

If you can’t think of any then you need to seek a closer relationship with Christ.

How God has made verse 13 possible.

Philippians 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Every phrase within this sentence is weighted with meaning.

My God: A promise based on a personal relationship with God.

Read Matthew 7:7-11

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

When we accept Christ into our lives, God welcomes us into His spiritual family.

Will meet: God meets us where we are and is the source of supply for meeting all our needs.

Material, emotional, physical,spiritual, social, financial, or any other need he will meet. He may use other people or events to help, but ultimately everything comes from Him.

all your needs: The key here is needs verses wants.

We don’t always get everything we want just because we ask Him. Sometimes we fail to receive the things the things we think we need the most.

God’s promise is to do what’s best for us and that promise includes meeting our needs.

We may desperately want something but God knows what we truly need.

according to His glorious riches: Just how rich is God?

Read Ephesians 1:18 and 3:16-21

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

He created everything. That is more than enough to provide for every person who has given their life to Him.

God’s supply never runs out so we can bring any and every difficulty to Him and we will always find “grace to help us in our time of need.”(Hebrews 4:16)

In Christ Jesus: When we turn over our whole lives to Jesus we receive “every spiritual blessing in Christ.”(Ephesians 1:3)

Because of our position in Christ, we have been credited with His righteousness in exchange for our sins.

God willingly blesses us.

Even Paul amazed himself with this promise that is why he followed up with a verse of praise.

To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Shouldn’t we do the same and give God the glory when because He meets all our needs, we have the strength to do all things.
