The Fruit of the Spirit and the Crucified Christian (Faith)

Faith of Christ (vs.9)

Faith is not “when you wish upon a star”, or some dream, hopes, or visions.
Hebrews 11,
Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Faith works. When we look at the faith of Christ, we see one who has the ultimate, perfect faith. FAITH IS OBEYING THE WORD OF GOD.
John 9:4 “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”
John 8:29 “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”
Philippians 2:6–9 “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:”
Christ was completely faithful to what God had said and promised he would do. (Lamb slain, God in the flesh, die on the cross as our substitute, raise again the 3rd morning, given him a name that is above every name)

Faith That Consecrates (vs.9b)(the righteousness which is of God by faith)

Because Christ was faithful, we now can have His righteousness applied to us, showing that we are faithful.
God does not accept us: he accepts his Son. When we place our FAITH in Christ, we become accepted in the BELOVED.
Romans 3:21–24 “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
Galatians 2:16–17 “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.”
When Christ was on Calvary, He exercised faith in the fact that He was completely obedient to His Father.
Our acts and works could never save us. The law never saved anyone. If someone could be saved by works, Christ wouldn’t have come to die for us. Because of the work of Christ, we can now be saved.
If Christ had not have been faithful, we would all be doomed, but now, we can be delivered.

Faith That Comprehends (vs.10)

Christ (know him)
We get to know the incarnate word by studying the inspired word. If you don’t have faith in God’s book, you won’t know know God’s beloved.
Conquering (power of his resurrection)
Exercising faith means that we can execute (kill) the flesh.
It is an act of submission to the Holy Spirit and letting the Holy Spirit use you in faith in yielding to him as an instrument of righteousness.
Romans 6:4 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Communion (fellowship of his sufferings)
Christ, with all the pain, torture, and agony of Calvary, did not cease to be faithful to His Father. Likewise, when our faith is tried, don’t let the works of the flesh swell up, surrender to the Holy Spirit.
Crucifixion (being made conformable unto his death)
A lot of people think that they need more joy, faith, love, peace, gentleness. When the Lord saved you, he gave you everything you need to bear the Fruit of the Spirit.
For us to have the fruit of the Spirit of faith, once again, we must yield to the Holy Spirit to allow us to have and show faith.
Romans 5:5 “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
John 17:13 “And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.”
John 14:27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
2 Peter 3:15 “And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;”
Psalm 18:35 “Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: And thy right hand hath holden me up, And thy gentleness hath made me great.”
Romans 2:4 “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”
Here in Philippians 3:9, we have the faith of Christ.
2 Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”
God has gave us HIS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS when we got saved.
If you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, you will show and exercise HIS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH.
