WEEK 1
WEEK 1
WHAT ARE WE CLINGING TO IN LIFE or WHAT WILL WE BE CLINGING TO IN DEATH?
Do We Need Clingstone Faith? Yes!
GOD’S DESIGN FOR US IS TO HAVE FAITH!!
We don’t ignore the problem, we point it out and face it head on with faith and thanksgiving.
We don’t hold on to the past, we lean into God for FAITH IS NOW, FAITH IS ACTION BASED ON GOD’S WORD TODAY!
Two Verses...
6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
We don’t clinging to mistakes, we ask forgiveness letting God’s grace change us.
We turn our invested time over to the Lord in everything.
We don’t put up appearances — we turn to God and others and be genuine
Since FAITH comes from Hearing the Good News we must be sharing it all the time for others to have FAITH that comes in knowing Jesus Christ!

WEEK 2
WEEK 2
Verse 2
Oh, that old rugged Cross
so despised by the world
Has a wondrous attraction for me
For the dear Lamb of God,
left His Glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary
Jesus brought his “glory” from heaven and he took it— his glory— to The Place of the Skull, where he shed his blood and redeemed the World from sin.
23 Jesus replied, “Now the time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory.
It was from this place that Jesus saw the Joy on the other side of the cross
What was the Joy?
It was you and me being set free!
Now that JOY that Jesus saw has His glory in it...
27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
I ended last week pointing out that the phrase may focus on “I”
I will cling to the old rugged Cross
Faith will cling to the old rugged Cross
However, We don’t do this alone— we are the body of Christ and we make His Glory available to those far from God so they can come close...
we support one another — for Christ brought us close to Him and brought us Peace.
13 But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.
14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.
WHO WILL YOU SHARE THE GLORY OF JESUS WITH THIS WEEK FOR FAITH TO GROW?
THE STORY AND THE GLORY!!
WEEK 3
WEEK 3
verse 3
In the old rugged Cross,
stain’d with blood so divine
A wondrous beauty I see
For ’twas on that old cross
Jesus suffered and died
To pardon and sanctify me
(Refrain)
So I’ll cherish the old rugged Cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged Cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
verse 3
In the old rugged Cross,
stain’d with blood so divine
A wondrous beauty I see
There is no way that we can really understand this phrase today...
“Blood divine”
“Wondrous beauty I see”
We are trained today that
blood is bad,
blood is contaminated
wear your gloves
many blood borne diseases are out their
In the old testament there were divine orders about blood and the sacrifices of animals.
Leviticus is full of laws about blood
Purpose:
The purpose of Leviticus is to provide instructions for the Israelites on how to live in holiness and maintain a relationship with a holy God. It details the sacrificial system, laws of purity, and moral and ethical guidelines, emphasizing the need for atonement and sanctification.
Type:
Life and Redemption is surrounded by Blood
The blood was seen as life-giving and necessary for atonement. It points to the blood of Christ, which redeems and gives eternal life.
11 for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.
So blood was divine...
1. of, from, or like God or a god:
2. excellent; delightful:
26 No matter where you live, you must never consume the blood of any bird or animal.
This also became a conversation in the New Testament
New gentile converts gets a short list from James
20 Instead, we should write and tell them to abstain from eating food offered to idols, from sexual immorality, from eating the meat of strangled animals, and from consuming blood.
Circumcision was not listed here nor any other Jew law that was geared towards obtaining salvation apart from faith.
4 When they arrived in Jerusalem, Barnabas and Paul were welcomed by the whole church, including the apostles and elders. They reported everything God had done through them. 5 But then some of the believers who belonged to the sect of the Pharisees stood up and insisted, “The Gentile converts must be circumcised and required to follow the law of Moses.”
THE BLOOD OF JESUS--THE DIVINE...
Blood is what set people free from sin.
Blood is what set you and me free from sin.
Blood was the agent that broke us free from the bondage of sin and shame.
THE BLOOD OF JESUS
That blood stained cross is one we can Cling to.
That blood stained cross is so divine.
STORY: Cross back in to America from Mexico
It became such a wondrous beauty to see freedom on the other side of the cross.
Where do you stand today?
Do you see your walk with Jesus one of duty or
Do you see your walk in Christ one of freedom, hope, and deliverance?
17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
There is no FREEDOM if you still see yourself as a prisoner.
if you still see yourself as a SINNER
16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

QUESTION
Are you clinging to the old rugged Cross?
or have you turned to the Lord, and let Him take the veil away?
REMEMBER
We do that with Clingstone Faith!
