Gründe für Gott?
It isn't reasons FOR God that we are lacking, there are plenty of reasons to believe in God's existence, both philosophical and scientific. Our major issue is that we have a very big reason NOT to want God to exist: our sin. Because we are without excuse, not to believe in God and honour Him, yet choose to live as if He doesn't exist, we find ourselves under the wrath and judgement of God, on a downward spiral further and further into our sinfulness and godlessness on our way to an eternal hell. This sermon explores this fact in Romans 1, juxtaposed against the story of Jonah, a prophet who very well knew God existed, but tried to escape him. All this to lead the listener to the "greater Jonah", Jesus Christ who like Jonah, offered His life for the men around Him to escape the wrath and judgement of God, however unlike Jonah, it wasn't Jesus' own sin that He died for, but ours.
