Overcoming Challenges with Faith

Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, because the power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore rather I will boast most gladly in my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may reside in me.”

तर मलाई उहाँले भन्‍नुभयो, 

“मेरो अनुग्रह तेरो निम्‍ति पर्याप्‍त छ, किनभने मेरो शक्ति दुर्बलतामा नै सिद्ध हुन्‍छ।”

 यसकारण ख्रीष्‍टको शक्ति ममा वास गरोस्‌ भनेर म बरु मेरो दुर्बलतामा बढ़ी खुशीसाथ गर्व गर्नेछु।

I. Introduction: Facing Challenges with Faith

Challenges are a part of life, but as believers, we are not alone.

Jesus Himself said, "In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

मैले तिमीहरूलाई यी कुरा यस हेतुले भनेको छु, कि ममा तिमीहरूलाई शान्‍ति होस्‌। संसारमा तिमीहरूलाई सङ्कष्‍ट हुनेछ, तर साहस गर, मैले संसारलाई जितेको छु।”

Our response to challenges determines our spiritual growth.

II. Understanding God’s Strength in Our Weakness

2 Corinthians 12:9 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Paul faced difficulties but relied on God’s strength.

God allows challenges to build our dependence on Him.

When we surrender, God’s power works through us.

III. Biblical Examples of Overcoming Challenges

Lesson: Trials prepare us for God’s greater purpose.

Joseph (Genesis 37-50) – Betrayed, sold as a slave, imprisoned, but God elevated him to be second-in-command in Egypt.

Lesson: Faith, not physical strength, wins battles.

David (1 Samuel 17) – Faced Goliath, a giant much stronger than him.

Lesson: Challenges test our faith but lead to restoration.

Job (Job 1-42) – Lost everything but remained faithful, and God restored him.

IV. Practical Steps to Overcome Challenges with Faith

Pray and Seek God’s Guidance – Philippians 4:6-7

Trust in God’s Promises – Isaiah 41:10 ‘यसैले नडरा, किनकि म तँसित छु। निरुत्‍साहित नहो, किनकि म तेरा परमेश्‍वर हुँ। म तँलाई बलियो पार्नेछु। म तँलाई सहायता गर्नेछु। मेरो धार्मिकताको दाहिने हातले म तँलाई सम्हाल्‍नेछु। ‘

Walk in Obedience – Joshua 1:9 तँलाई मेरो आज्ञा छ बलियो र खूबै साहसी हो, नडरा, निराश नहो, किनकि तँ जहाँ गए पनि, परमप्रभु तेरा परमेश्‍वर, तेरो साथमा हुनुहुनेछ।”

Surround Yourself with Faithful People – Hebrews 10:25 कति जनाको सङ्गतिमा नजाने बानी हुन्‍छ, तर हामीचाहिँ एकसाथ भेला हुन नछोडौं। तर प्रभुको दिन नजिक आइरहेको तिमीहरूले देखेका हुनाले एउटाले अर्कालाई झन्‌ प्रोत्‍साहन देओ।

V. Conclusion: Victory Through Faith

Faith does not remove challenges but gives us strength to overcome them.
