Today, I am going to show you how Jesus can make you complete.

1. Introduction.

Every single human being is born with a void or with a hole in his or her soul. It is a hole that is there because of Adam. It is a hole that originally was not in mankind as Adam was created without that void in his soul. The spot that became the void was filled by the Spirit of God. It became a void when Adam sinned.
In his complete created state, Adam could walk with God, but when he sinned the void in his soul made him fear God. Instead of walking with God, Adam was hiding from God. He knew something was missing in his life.
Since that point in time, mankind has tried to fill that void with all kinds of stuff.
Mankind has tried to fill that void with riches, but God calls that person a fool.
Luke 12:19–20And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’”
Psalm 14:1 “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.”
If you literally interpret God’s Word, which is what we should do, you can honestly interpret God’s Word as saying that chasing fortune is an indication that a person has said in his or her heart that there is no God.
Mankind tries to fill that void with drugs, but drugs can never fill that void. Drugs bring destruction for a second of momentary satisfaction, but that momentary satisfaction does not fill the void.
Mankind tries to fill that void with alcohol, but alcohol leads to an unfulfilled life dependent upon a substance that will ruin you.
Proverbs 20:1 “Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.”
Listen to me kiddos. There is no such thing as an innocent drink. The drink that you think is innocent can lead you to a life of constantly filling that void with alcohol.
Man tries to fill that void with pride, self-righteousness, and sexual perversion, but none of those lead to eternal satisfaction with the void remaining intact.
The void you have in your life can only be filled by what God intended to fill it in the first place, and that is the indwelling Holy Spirit which is available to you through Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,”
Jesus wants to fill the void in your life, but He will not do it arbitrarily. You have to come to Him in faith.
Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.””
The great thing about God is that He is looking for you in the same way that He was looking for Adam.
Luke 19:10for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.””
If you have still have that void in your life, Jesus Christ is seeking you this morning wanting to make you whole. When Jesus Christ finds you, and you have the faith to accept what He is offering, your life will be changed forever as you will never have to seek the things of this world to fill what is missing in your life.
Jesus Christ can do that because He is unique. His uniqueness is defined by His deity and His humanity. He is Man. He is God.

2. Jesus is the supernatural Son of God.

Philippians 2:6–7 “who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”
The reason Jesus can fill the void in your life is because He is the supernatural Son of God.
As Paul says in Philippians, Jesus was made in the likeness of men, but He was more than just a man.
Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
Jesus Christ was man, but He was a man born of a virgin named Mary. He had no human father.
It is hard for some to believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, and as a result, they continue to have emptiness in their lives.
Can I tell you something? It was hard for Mary to grasp too.
Luke 1:34–37 “Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.””
With God, nothing is impossible.
You may be hopeless, but hope is available. You may be searching desperately for something to make you complete. You might think nothing will make you whole, but with God, nothing is impossible.
Jesus Christ, the Supernatural Son of God, can fill the void in your life.

3. Jesus is the sinless Son of God.

Philippians 2:8 “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
John 8:29And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.””
Jesus Christ can fill the void in your life because He is the sinless Son of God.
Jesus Christ, while on earth and throughout eternity, was completely obedient to God.
While on earth, Jesus lay aside His glory. That does not mean He stopped being God because He could never stop being God, but what He did on earth, He did in the Father’s authority. Everything Jesus did on earth was in the will of the Father as He was being led by the Holy Spirit.
While on earth, Jesus was tempted as you and I are tempted, but He did not succumb to that temptation. Satan threw everything He had at Jesus, yet Jesus never sinned. He lived on earth sinless, so He could be what you need to make you complete.
Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
Even the great Pilate at the mock trial of Jesus Christ proclaimed that he could find no fault in Jesus. Jesus was innocent. He is and always will be the sinless Son of God.

4. Jesus is the sovereign Son of God.

John 8:58 “Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.””
Jesus Christ can fill the void in your life because He is the sovereign Son of God.
Jesus Christ is not only the Son of God. He is God the Son.
The Jews had one major problem with Jesus. They hated Jesus’ claims of being the Son of God. They questioned Jesus about it on many occasions, and even made some inappropriate accusations toward Mary.
John 8:39–41 “They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.””
Do you understand the accusation they were making? The Jews were saying we know our father, but you are illegitimate not even knowing who your father is. They said Jesus was a product of fornication.
Can you imagine saying that to God? Well, Jesus knows how to get to the point of the matter really fast. Notice how He responds.
John 8:58 “Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.””
“I AM” is the most sacred name for God that the Jews knew. It was the unspeakable name of God. It was the tetragrammaton. Theologically, it is the ineffable name of God, the unspeakable name of God.
Dear friend, I have told you time and time again. It is Jesus Christ who makes God knowable. You cannot know God apart from Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ boldly proclaimed to those Jews that He was the unspeakable name of God. He was God before Abraham was born.

5. Jesus is the sacrificial Son of God.

1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,”
Romans 8:32 “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
Jesus Christ can fill the void in your soul because He is the sacrificial Son of God. Jesus Christ was sacrificed for you.
I say this all the time.
A person will get saved when he or she realizes that Jesus Christ was sacrificed for that person. Jesus Christ was that person’s substitute. I do not believe anyone gets saved until they get to the point where they realize that it should have been them hanging on that Cross.
Jesus Christ died in obedience to the Father knowing the Cross was necessary to fill the void in your life.
The blood of Jesus Christ flowed freely on that dark day of April 3, 33 AD. It was not just normal blood. It was the blood of God.
Acts 20:28 “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”
It took God’s blood to fill the void in your life, but it was a price that God was willing to pay. That is how much He loves you.
I promise you, dear friend, you can search from can to can’t, but you will never fill the void in your life apart from the blood of Jesus Christ, and the Bible gives you a serious warning about trying.
Hebrews 10:29–30 “Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.””

6. Jesus is the surviving Son of God.

Luke 24:1–3 “Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.”
Luke 24:4–5 “And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
Jesus can fill the emptiness in your life because He is alive today and living forever more.
If you read 1st Cor. Chap 15, you are going to find, if my math is correct, that 521 people saw the living, resurrected Jesus Christ.
That’s enough witnesses to verify the truth of the Resurrection.
Jesus Christ can fill the void in your life because He is the surviving Son of God.

7. Jesus is the saving Son of God.

Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.””
Jesus Christ can fill the void in your life because He is the saving Son of God.
Jesus Christ came to this earth to save you, to make you whole. Jesus Christ came to this earth for the “whosoevers.”
There is no one that is too bad to be saved, and there is no one that is so good that they don’t need to be saved.
Dear friend, God is seeking you today. He wants to make you complete. You may not be searching for Him, but He is searching for you. There is a great passage in Zechariah that talks about it.
It was God who came looking for Adam and not Adam who was looking for God. If you wait until you are ready to start searching for God, you will never be ready. It is God who seeks.
Isaiah 55:6–7 “Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.”
God wants to complete you this morning. Aren’t you ready to be made whole?
Romans 10:9–10 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
