What do I believe God wants us to know? We are to bring the kingdom, inherit the land with love
Why? Love changes everything
What do I believe God wants us to do? Love as He loves
Why? Love changes everything for the better.
ME/WE
We are the series Inherit the Land…I thought we might be over with this series but God reminded we are called to Inherit Cleveland….God has places us here for such a time as this to BRING THE KINGDOM of GOD
Our mission and mandate is to bring THE KINGDOM of GOD here. To have this CLEVELAND be a place flowing with MILK and HONEY
FULL OF THE GOODNESS OF GOD
But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they dream,
for it is a lie that they are prophesying to you in my name; I did not send them, declares the Lord.
WHY DO WE WANT THIS?
THIS IS WHAT WE WANT RIGHT?
LIGHT TO REIGN
DARKNESS TO FLEE
THOSE DEAD IN SIN RAISED TO NEW LIFE
JOY TO RADIATE THROUGHT THE CLOUDS OF WINTER
THE QUESTION IS HOW DO WE DO THIS? HOW DO WE SEEK THE WELFARE OF THE CITY?
Do we raise up or find gifted preachers of the Word…blast them all over social media and from our pulpits.…maybe have revival meetings.

Or do have a lot of JUSTICE WORK being done to the POOR, WIDOW, ORPHAN, IMMAGRANT
Or do having healing nights were people are healed PHYSICALLY and EMOTOINALLY
THE ANSWER IS YES
you should preach the WORD
you should take care of WIDOWS, IMMAGRANT, ORPHANS
heal the sick
BUT, GOD SAYS WAIT BEFORE YOU DO IT YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING APART OF YOU BRINGING THE KINGDOM OF GOD
ANYBODY KNOW WHAT WE NEED? THAT ANYTIME WE DO THE WORK OF GOD THIS MUST BE A PART OF IT AND IF IT IS NOT…NOT ONLY WILL IT NOT WORK BUT IT WILL OFTEN BRING MORE DIFFICULTIES FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD ADVANCING.
LOVE
This is what God’s Word says to the church of Corinth and us.
LOVE MUST BE THE FOUNDATION of BRINGING THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO EARTH
Look at what it says
A little back story Paul is laying out how they are gifted
Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.
A MORE EXCELLENT WAY…what is the excellent way? DOING THESE THIGNS WITH LOVE
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have this angelic preaching voice....people can be really touched by my voice and I am no podcast and YouTube and dowloaded over and over…it will not matter if I do not have love
How would you feel if I gave an amazing sermon…you are moved and then afterwards I am jerk to you.
We have seen unfortunately seen this famous pastors who have the gift preaching live duplicited lives and
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Placed compentecy over the character of Christ…it has left a devestating impact on the church
Preach those messages, preach the WORD…but DO IT LOVE, DO IT WITH GOD’S HEART…in the pulpit and out of the pulpit.
And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
Prophetic
have an amazing prophetic gift....give amazing prophetic words over peope
Great knowledge of the Lord and understand the mysteries of God
Faith that can move mountains but have not LOVE
I AM NOTHING
Some of us have been around people like this they can PROPHECY and HAVE GREAT KNOWLEDGE…BUT THEY ARE ARROGANT AND PRIDEFUL
If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
IF YOU SERVE IN SUCH A WAY THAT YOU GIVE IT ALL AWAY…BUT YOU DO IT WAY THAT IS UNLOVING NOTHING IS GAINED.
I AM GOING TO HELP YOU BECAUSE UNFORTUNATELY YOU HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HELP YOURSELF
LESS THAN ME…
THE POINT THAT IS BEING DRIVEN HOME THROUGHOUT ALL OF SCRIPTURE
GOD IS SAYING WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT IS NOT ONLY THAT YOU DO THE WORK OF THE LORD BUT THAT YOU ARE BEING LIKE THE LORD WHEN YOU DO THE WORK
What does it mean to be like the Lord?
That we are full of LOVE when we do the WORK of the LORD
What does it mean to love?
so many definitions of love
LOVE CHOCOLATE is different that they love you have for warm weather to come than it is different to LOVE you have for SPOUSE or LOVED ONE
PAUL SAYS I AM GOING TO GIVE YOU 16 DEFINITIONS OF WHAT LOVE IS (so we are clear)…GODLY LOVE IS…WE ARE NOT GOING TO COVER THEM ALL
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
LOVE IS PATENT

Is this not how we feel when we are in a long line at the store, ahhh can the line just move…or traffic just move….or CAN MY KIDS just

How many times has God said to us do ____ or stop doing ___ and what do we do? Not the thing He tells us to do or don’t do
2. LOVE IS NOT BOASTFUL, RUDE, ARROGANT, or RUDE
Love doesn’t say well, I know I am better than you at this and I sorry you are just not so great at this….maybe one day you I will get better…
Rude because we are not PATIENT…sometimes we are RUDE because someone is rude to us.
Anybody every struggle with pride from time to time or SAY things rudly to someone….
Come on why don’t you get this???
OR be arrogant

3. LOVE DOES NOT INSIST ON ITS OWN WAY: IS NOT ABOUT ME

Why? we like things to go our way

LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
WHAT THE MOST LOVING THING TO DO IS LOOK AT OTHERS NEEDS BEFORE YOU NEEDS
This is what Jesus has done for us.

4. LOVE DOESN’T HOLD GRUDGES
Anybody every like to hold a grudge, not forgive someone?

I used to a king at holding grudges
YOU DID THIS TO ME..you owe me
I am not going to FORGIVE YOU
WHY AM I NOT HOLDING ONTO THE LIST? LOOK WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR ME
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
How much did God forgive us? The cross
On top of that UNFORGIVENESS is bad for you
There’s an old saying that goes like this, “Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.”
AND GIVES A FOOTHOLD TO THE ENEMY AND DEMONIC ACTIVITY IN YOUR LIFE
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
5. TRUTHFUL
Love doesn’t lie…even small itty bitty ones
At the apporate time and in the apropriate way.
Not rude fully or arrogantly
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
6. Love BEARS
Our American world has become so individualized that we don’t spend time bearing and caring for one another We are a family who are to help one another out, not a business
DIFFICULTIES
DOUBT
DEPRESSON
STRUGGLES WITH SIN
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
7. Love HOPES
WE hope for others..
GOD SAYS TO US USE YOUR GIFTS, DO THE WORK OF THE LORD, BUT DO IT AS IF YOU ARE THE LORD DOING IT.
ONE OF THE WAYS WE DO THAT IS WITH LOVE
Take some time and look through the list of attritubes and ask is this true of me.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
What is the God saying for you to work on?
Also God is saying
