A 15-minute men's ministry devotional on Discipleship: Following Jesus with Purpose.
Key Passage: Matthew 4:19“And he said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.’”

Introduction (2 minutes)

Discipleship is more than just learning about Jesus; it is about following Him and leading others to do the same.
Jesus called ordinary men—fishermen, tax collectors—to be His disciples, transforming them into world-changers.
The same call extends to us today as men: to follow Jesus wholeheartedly and to disciple others intentionally.

1. The Call to Follow (5 minutes)

Discipleship begins with knowing and obeying Jesus, not just attending church or studying theology.
Jesus calls us to Himself“Follow me…”
Following Christ requires surrender—leaving behind distractions and making Him our priority.
Jesus doesn’t just call us; He shapes us into His image.
Following means transformation“And I will make you…”
Being a disciple means daily growing in character, faith, and obedience.
Ask: Are you allowing Jesus to change you, or are you just going through the motions?

2. The Call to Lead (5 minutes)

Disciples make disciples“Fishers of men”
Every man has influence—whether at home, work, or church.
Ask: Who are you intentionally discipling? Who are you investing in spiritually?
The purpose of following Jesus is not just personal growth but leading others to Him.
Practical ways to disciple others:
Be available – Discipleship happens through relationships. Make time for others.
Lead by example – Show faithfulness in your walk with Christ.
Share your story – Your testimony of following Jesus can impact someone else’s journey.
Encourage and challenge – Help others grow in faith by walking with them through life’s struggles.

Conclusion & Challenge (3 minutes)

Discipleship is not optional—it’s the heart of the Christian life.
Jesus’ call is simple: Follow Him and lead others.
Challenge: Identify one person this week to encourage in their walk with Christ. Pray for them, reach out, and be intentional in discipleship.
Prayer:
Ask God for a deeper commitment to following Jesus.
Pray for wisdom and courage to disciple others.
Closing Thought: Discipleship is a lifelong journey. Will you commit to being a faithful disciple and a disciple-maker?
