My brothers and sisters in the year 2015, there was an artist by the name of Kendrick Lamar that wrote a song “Alright”. He was inspired to write this after being in South Africa and witnessing the struggles they faced. With Him writing this song it became one of the top songs with pushing the Black Lives Matter Movement. Especially during the time when the song came out. Around that time The Killing of Amir Rice, Michael Brown, and Eric Garner. Young Black Mean Murder by white police officers. During that time it was a hard time and Brother Lamar song helped to lift up and tell the African American people that “We Gone Be Alright” As Black brothers and sisters we know what it is like to face somethings. But we have examples and pioneers that have gone before us that we can look to and we can understand the We gone be alright.
May we go down memory Lane. Were were slaves at one point and not even considered to be a whole person but We Gone be alright. Slavery ended but we still were ridiculed and not treated fairly because of the pigmentation of our skin but We Gone be alright. They lied on us, talk about us, did all they could to keep us from getting ahead but We Gone be alright.
Even today we they are got rid of DEI and Grocery prices are going up and we got a president letting his right hand man make decisions about our children’s education, But We gone be alright. Just look at your Neighbor and tell them we gone be alright, Because why you are trying to figure it out God has already Worked it out. We gone be alright.
However, We are living in a day and age now where we really don’t believe we are going to be alright. Let’s be honest church there has been times in all our lives when we didn’t think everything was going to be alright. Thats right we had let the situation we were in and the problems we were facing take our focus off of trusting God. We started believing in people more than believing in God. We started believing in family more than believing in God. We started believing in our own ability and our money more than beleiving in God.
The trust of our own ability has over taken our trust in God. We have saints losing there mind and going into a state of depression because of who we have has the president. We are trying to solve and figure it out on our own but we must get back to what we believe and that’s Trusting in God. We must understand that our own ability will only get us so far but we got to trust in the Lord with all of heart and lean not to our own understanding. There was a time when we would trust him even when we didn’t know what’s next. We would trust him when you couldn’t trace. We got to get back to believing and trusting, Because we’ve come this far by faith.. leaning on the Lord trusting in his Holy Word he’s Never failed me yet. Oh oooo oooo can’t turn around we’ve come this far by faith. Get your trust back get your faith back everything will be alright. All you have to do is have a little talk with Jesus tell him all about your troubles he will hear your cry and answer by and by. Just look at your neighbor and tell them We Gone Be Alright.
Church we must understand and realize we can’t let trials, storms, and circumstances have us believing that things will not be alright. This is what happened to the disciples for a slight moment in our text we read today. They began to panic and lose faith. But as I was reading this chapter it made me ponder on why the disciples would lose faith. If anything they should be the ones with the most faith. As I reading in verse 34 before Jesus even tell his disciples let us go over to the other side in 35 it says in the text that he explained himself more in depth to his disciples than he did the people. So seeing this tells me that his disciples should be strong in their faith even in the midst of circumstances. After seeing that it made me realize that we have saints that come to church Sunday after the Sunday and Wednesday after Wednesday and still have faith issues but you have other who don’t that have more faith than the ones that are constantly hearing. We got to stay strong in our faith and know that God will see you through.
Don’t Let your faith be shrunken because of what you see going on around you. Because If God be for you then Who can be against you. When we see these things happening that is the time for us to step up in our faith and believe that God will take care of me. Is there anybody here that can say I won’t let whats happening around me shrink my faith but I will let it fuel my faith to trust God Even the More
As believers we already know trials and tribulation will come but we got to Hold on and keep the faith. For the bible tells me in Romans 8:18
New Living Translation Chapter 8
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
There will be glory after this. Stand firm in your faith. Hold your head up and Stick your Chest out, Because God is on your Side. I believe David Can testify that With Faith and Trust in God you will be alright. David Killed Goliath with a Sling Shot and a Rock because of his Faith in God.
Daniel…..
The Three Hebrew Boys…
Moses…..
Just Look at Somebody and tell them Get your Faith up.
Because and We know that All things work together for them who love the Lord and are called according to his Purpose.
However we see in our text today that Jesus just gets done teaching parables and he tells his Disciples If I may Paraphrase Come on get your things and we are going over to the other side. So the Disciples load up and the text says other boats followed as well. The first thing I want to point out is we must Listen to the Prophetic declaration of the Messiah / Listen when He Speaks.
Too many of us are listening but we are not listening. The story goes on and they get in the boat and are headed across the Sea of Galilee. Now where this Sea is it is located in around mountains and valleys. With this the waters could be easily troubled and they were Prone to windstorms.
This is exactly what happened as they were Journeying to the other side. Now some disciples had experience of working in the area of being fishermen. However even with having experience of being in a storm before and knowing what to do they panicked. So What do you do when following God has you in something you have never experienced. Do you Panic or do you remember what he spoke. The disciples found themselves panicking. In this next season of Life you will have some storms but you must remember that the Word has already been spoken that we are going over to the other side. Listen when he speaks. God is not a man that he should Lie nor the Son of man that he should repent. If God has spoke something over your life it has to come to past. Gods word will Not Fail and Cannot Fail. You can take his word to the bank and the check won’t bounce. Just look at your neighbor and tell them God Won’t fail. The Old saints would sing Truly God don’t Lie.
You Got to listen when he speaks.
Not only Must we listen but we have to remember the Messiah in in our Presence. Church the bible says that the disciples began to panic. They are panicking and Jesus is sleeping in the hinder part of the ship. When you realize you have the Presence of the Messiah there is no need to panic. But the disciples are still panicking so they go and wake Jesus up. I can imaagine Jesus is sleeping Peacefully after having a long day of teaching and the disciples bust in on him screaming and yelling Master don’t you care that we are about to drown and die. I can see Jesus yawning and wiping the crust out his eyes looking at the disciples with a confused face probably saying in his head Die??? I can see him getting up and going out to see this great storm and opening his mouth with a Stern voice saying to the storm Peace be still and instantly the storm calming down. Then I see him looking back at the disciples with a confused face asking them why are you afraid do you still have no faith?
Brothers and sisters we have to understand who is in our presence. There is nobody like him. The disciple still didn’t recognize who was in there midst. They let the Effects of the storm cause them to forget what God had Done. Don’t Let what you are in right now make you to have amnesia If he did it before he can do it again. Same God Right Now Same God Back then. For he is the Same yesterday, today and forever more.
If we are going to make it we have to realize who is in our midst. Even in a storm we still have him in the midst. So God will sometimes have you to go through somethings and it may feel like he doesn’t care or he is not there but i come to remind you he is there and what you are in right now is not designed for it to take you out but for God to bring you out. He is in your storm with you and he will bring you out.
I don’t know about you but I just need 5 people and I’ll make 6 that can give God praise Cause that storm you thought was going to die in God was using it to bring glory to him. He wanted you to have a testimony so you could tell somebody else if he did it for me I know he can do it for you.
We Got to Listen when he speaks, Remember the presence of the Messiah, and Lastly Remember the Power of the Messiah
Verse 41 It says they were terrified and began to ask what kind of man is this that even the winds and the Sea obey him. This meaning of the word terrified simply means they Reverenced him a different nature seeing that they were in the midst of the one with Divine authority. We have to learn to reverence him more than our storm. Don’t put your storm above him but put him above your storm because if you do that I Got a feeling that Everything will be ALRIGHT!!!! I don’t know about you But I know we gone be alright because we have a Powerful Messiah and when I am Weak he makes me strong. Do know how powerful he is. Is there anyone here other than me that can attest to the Power of the messiah. Just Look at your Neighbor and ask them do you know his Power?
Closing
There was an old mother in the church named Sister Johnson. She had been through her share of storms—losing her husband, struggling to raise her children, battling sickness. But through it all, she never stopped praising God.
One year, a tornado came through her town, tearing up houses, knocking down power lines, and leaving destruction everywhere. When the storm passed, her house was still standing, but the roof was damaged, the windows were shattered, and the rain had soaked everything inside.
The next Sunday, Sister Johnson came to church like she always did, dressed in her Sunday best, clapping her hands and shouting, “Hallelujah!”
A younger woman came up to her and said, “Mother Johnson, how can you still praise God after all you’ve been through? Your house is nearly destroyed!”
Sister Johnson smiled and said, “Baby, my house might have been damaged, but my foundation is still strong! The storm tried to take everything, but it couldn’t take my praise! I’m still here, and as long as I’ve got breath in my body, I will bless the Lord at all times!”
Close with power:
“Some of y’all have been through some storms—storms in your finances, storms in your health, storms in your family. But I came to tell you today, just like Sister Johnson, you may have lost some things, but you didn’t lose your foundation! The storm may have shaken you, but it didn’t break you! And if you’re still here, if you still have breath, you ought to give God a praise right now—because you didn’t just go through the storm, you came OUT!”
We will understand it better by and by
With Jesus on our side things will work out fine youre going to make it
The Storm is Passing Over
