There is a stream that flows from the Spirit
There is a stream that flows from the Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the oil that flows in the life of believers- Both in my Ministry and in my everyday life, There is no separating the fact that the holy Spirit is at Work and can be at work through me
This is why-
We pray and anoint in our house when sickness comes
We pray together and read the Bible as a family
Everything we do in this church we do at some scale as a family in our own house
Because the Holy Spirit isn’t limited to just church services-
Our God is not a territorial god
When we go into areas where the devil and his demons have set up shop, God’s does wait at the gate… NO!
So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
God doesn’t leave us In fact
Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
When the Spirit is working in your life:
Your marriage
Your parenting
your working
your relationships
your money or finances
It always flows better
Apollos needed the Spirit, you need the Spirit
Apollos needed the Spirit, you need the Spirit
While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers. “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them.
“No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
“Then what baptism did you experience?” he asked.
And they replied, “The baptism of John.”
Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.”
As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied. There were about twelve men in all.
Just before this Apollos is preaching the Word of God in Ephesus it says in Acts 18:25
He had been taught the way of the Lord, and he taught others about Jesus with an enthusiastic spirit and with accuracy. However, he knew only about John’s baptism.
So what is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?
So what is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a powerful experience that immerses the believers in the Holy Spirit’s presence and power-
It is for all believers-
A.W. Tozer “the Spirit-filled life is not a deluxe edition of Christianity; it is part and parcel to the total plan of God”
All were filled in the upper Room
And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
Peter says that Spirit spoke through Joel
‘In the last days,’ God says,
‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your young men will see visions,
and your old men will dream dreams.
It is the Baptism of fire
“I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Fire Speaks of Purification and empowerment-
Fire has the ability to consume and transform, it can bring light and heat
Dr. Rodney Howard Browne “The Fire of god does not just warm us; it empowers us to act and fulfill our divine purpose”
It is the oil that is poured out upon our lives-
So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah.
It is the Anointing of God poured out on our lives
“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
The Holy Spirit is working right now in your life-
That is how much God loves us, He empowers us through the Holy Spirit!
God wants you to be able to live the life He has for you, and therefore He give us the Holy Spirit!
The Empowering is for the Believers
The Empowering is for the Believers
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
Anything- All Things are possible-
dunatos (δυνατός, 1415), corresponding to A, No. 1, signifies “powerful.”
Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament based on Semantic Domains 71.2 δυνατός, ή, όν
pertaining to being possible, with the implication of power or ability to alter or control circumstances
Jesus here speaks to a man who’s son was bound by a spirit that sent the boy into convulsion and kept him from Speaking-
When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,” he said. “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!”
Jesus didn’t doubt that the spirit was gonna obey Him
We need to believe that the Spirit has empowered us just as it did Jesus
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
The power of the Spirit
The power of the Spirit
Then Paul went to the synagogue and preached boldly for the next three months, arguing persuasively about the Kingdom of God. But some became stubborn, rejecting his message and publicly speaking against the Way. So Paul left the synagogue and took the believers with him. Then he held daily discussions at the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia—both Jews and Greeks—heard the word of the Lord.
God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.
God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles- The ability came through he anointing of the Spirit cause the spirit is the oil of anointing that flows!
But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth.
ESV- 1 John 2:20
But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.

2. chrio (χρίω, 5548) is more limited in its use than No. 1; it is confined to “sacred and symbolical anointings”; of Christ as the “Anointed” of God,
You have been anointed
It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us,
The anointing is the enabling -
Jesus Said- Luke 4:18-19
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
“Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.
Some think they can sit on the outside and know the key words and phrases, but that is not a replacement for the anointing
A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.
