Enter Into The Kingdom Of Heaven
Jesus has over the gospels said how to enter the kingdom
all of these are impossible
for instance in
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
“For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
to the people the Pharisees are about as righteous as anyone could be
but Jesus says you have to exceed
“And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
a rich man is considered blessed of God
“Strive to enter through the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
struggle to enter the narrow door
Impossible for man to be able to get into the Kingdom
easier for a camel to go through..
born again..
the wages of sin is death
all have sinned and fall short
keeping the law is impossible
the blood of sheep and goats cannot..
Every way they thought about entering into the kingdom has being taken away
by what Jesus says it seems to be impossible for anyone to be saved
now Jesus is going to add another stipulation to be able to be saved
Jesus had just told them that the tax collector was justified instead of the Pharisee

they were bringing their babies, infants
the mothers were bringing them so that Jesus could bless them
the disciples were blocking them from coming to Jesus
they were trying to send them away
in the other gospels we see Jesus rebuking the disciples for not allowing the children
but Luke has another message he wants to convey to us
The Holy Spirit here has a list of kingdom entry messages that He wants us to learn
so, Luke goes right to the message

the kingdom belongs to such as these
now what is the infant quality that we are looking for?
what is it about infants that Jesus says a person needs to be like
Innocence?
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.
David knew that he was born a sinful baby
maybe because a baby is not selfish
give me give me
V 17 accept the kingdom like a baby
when some one accept the Lord Jesus as savior what attitude must he have
I believe the child like attitude Jesus is speaking of is helpless
a baby is totally helpless
has to rely on someone else for everything
food, shelter, carried, the only thing a baby can do is beg.
lets look back at the pharisee
he was a proud man who in his own eyes was just
he was not helpless like a baby in need of a savior
but on the other hand the tax collector who was broken over his sin
knew that his only hope was a savior to forgive and have mercy
in his helplessness

being regenerated
it take an act of God in the heart of man to cause this
just like putting a camel through the eye of a needle
mans pride and self will cannot allow himself to be broken over his sin
and now we see Jesus saying we need to be helpless before we can be saved
God demands total reliance upon Him
He calls us to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
repentance is turning from your self reliance
your self pride
your own way to God
to totally depend on Jesus for life
to helplessly lay your burden down at the foot of the cross
and give it to Jesus
Jesus does the impossible
He saves us from our sin and death
He changes our destination from hell to Heaven
wont you repent and believe today?
