How does God come?
Why we pray for God to come? God is everywhere all the time, so what would it even mean for Him to come to you today?
우리는 왜 속히 만나달라고 기도해야 하는가? 무소부재하신 하나님이신데, 오늘날 하나님이 나에게 오시도록 기도하는 것의 의미는 무엇인가?
옥한흠 목사는 한줌 흙으로 빚어진 사람이 영이신 하나님을 만나는 것을 아주 어려운 일이다. 어떤 때는 머리를 박고 한 두시간을 부르짖어도 하나님의 찾아오심을 느끼지 못한채 답답함만이 남나있을 때가 있다. 그만큼 보잘것 없는 인간이 전능하신 하나님과 주파수를 마추는 것이 만만한 것이 아니다라고 했다.
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
keep watch over the door of my lips!
Do not let my heart incline to any evil,
to busy myself with wicked deeds
in company with men who work iniquity,
and let me not eat of their delicacies!
O Lord, I call upon you; hasten to me!
Give ear to my voice when I call to you!
O Lord, Hear My Prayer
in verse 1, “Call” appears twice, forming two parallel statements.
The first call asks God to come to David, and the second call asks God to hear him.
the psalmist desperately expects that God will overcome distance between them (come to and hear him).
How Does God Come?
God is omnipresent, so what does it mean for Him to come to us?
“Hasten to me” means coming with influence, or intimacy, or power, or help.
“Listen to me” means that this prayer is prayer for the manifest presence of God, an experience of His nearness and power.
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
A Prayer of Sacrifice
First to offer a second pair of parallel phrases
It seems to intensify the nature of the prayer by involving the body.
In the sense and the sacrifice were elements of a temple worship in the Old Testament.
The salmist wanted a prayer to be praising to God like those ritual were.
Person to send it to be saying something similar to verse one. Both verses are striving through prayer to overcome the distance between God and David.
In the first one, David asks God to bring his presence to him.
Inverse two David has come into God’s presence.
David repeats the phrase I call.
What might he be trying to communicate to God and to us through these parallel statements?
David wants God to bring his presence to him.
He doesn’t wanna speak anything meaningless.
In his prayer, David, asks God’s presence with his power, His influence, with His intimacy and his help.
What does it mean for God to come to David or to us? Can you think of other text in the Bible that use the same language?
Older woman Anna she had been waiting for the Christ in our older ages. Whole prayer had brought cast presence influence help power and eventually she saw the Christ.
How does David’s prayer change or progress in verse two? Wasn’t you in the second verse?
The prayer pursuing God‘s presence brings God’s influence and God’s power and God’s attendance. as a result he has to come into God’s presence.

언약궤가 요단강 물가에 서자 물이 멈춰서고, 아담성읍에서 사해까지 흘러가는 물이 끊어졌다.
배머리에 물이 들어와 배가 잠기도록 풍랑이 선박을 삼킨다 할지라도 주님의 임재 앞에서 파도가 잠잠해 진다.
문이 잠겨서 로마의 군대에 의해 언제 습격을 당해 죽을지도 모르는, 사랑하는 이들과 가진 모든 것들을 잃게되고 모든 소망이 사라질 수도 있는 두려움 앞에 있는 제자들에게 문을 통과해서 들어오신 주님의 임재 앞에 서면 평안이 지배한다.
