Text: 2 Cor 3:17-18.
Transformation is a dynamic (active) and continuous process which is nurtured within the
community of believers/shape-shifting.
We constantly hear people say: "The day I gave my life to the Lord, the day I came to the feet of Christ, the
day I had an encounter with Jesus. "
Or maybe someone grew up in the gospel, and those words have never come out of their mouth.
But it is vital to have an encounter to be transformed by the Holy Spirit!
One of the signs that something really happened is change. Every experience or encounter with God must produce
a change and leave a mark
In the book of Exodus, we find Moses, a Hebrew raised as an Egyptian, who, leaving behind
all comfort, became a simple, humble shepherd of his father-in-law Jethro's
sheep.
However, when this man after he encountered God through the burning bush.
The Bible states that when Moses ascended the mountain to speak with God, his face glowed (Exodus 34:29).
An encounter with God must have evidence
When we spend time with God, we are penetrated by the heavenly smell—the smell of glory and the smell of anointing.
Illustration: When we go to eat at a restaurant, it doesn't matter if it doesn't say where it went or denies it—it smells like
food! Your clothes are soaked with the smell of food, your lips or cheeks are shiny from oil, and your clothes are stained!
When we spend time with God, we cannot hide it, much less deceive anyone.
Someone who spends time with God embodies
His essence, carries the scent of the mountains, walks alongside Him, and shares
His word.
For what fills the heart informs the speech! Luke 6:45
Simon (The Hearer)- Cephas (Rock)=Peter
(Rock) John 1:42
Saul (Great)Roman-Paul (Small/Latin) Gentiles Acts 13:9
Jacob (The Heel Grabber, "The
Second" or "The Substitute") Israel (The One Who Wrestles with God) Genesis
32:28
These 3 examples show us 3 people who underwent a metamorphosis in their lives!
Our lives require a spiritual transformation (derived from Greek meaning a change from within)!
In Ezekiel 37, the Metamorphosis of Heaven, the Holy Spirit was about to undergo a transformation.
Prophesy son of man 3 times!
I bring spirit into you, and you will live. V. 5
Spirit comes from the four winds and blows on these dead, and they will live. V.9
Behold, I will open your graves, my people, and will bring you up from your graves and
bring you into the land of Israel. V. 12
Prophesy= Greek- To announce or declare the will of God
Today I prophesy that the transformation of the Holy Spirit, a metamorphosis, will come into your life,
and the Lord will change your name!
You will no longer be labeled as a failure, drunk, drug addict, liar, stagnant, gossip, depressive, or by how
others or the past have defined you!
Now you will be called my people, a chosen lineage, a holy nation, a royal priesthood, the apple of my eye,
friends, my special treasure!!
You are special!! The Lord says to you, "Will a woman forget what she gave birth
to, that she may not have compassion on the child of her womb?" Even if I
forget her, I will never forget you. Behold, I have carved you in the palms of
my hands; Your walls are always before me. Isaiah 49:15-16.
As for the former way of life, put off the old self, which is corrupted according
to deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the
new man, created after God in the righteousness and holiness of truth. Eph 4: 22-24
LET US ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO TRANSFORM US!!
