From Generation to Generation
The Problem: I’m convince that the enemy is set on dividing us in any way he can. Through race, politics and defiantly generationally.
Who is better?
We cannot do all God has called us to do unless we partner with generations before and after us.
Me
I have struggled with division in this area of my life
I’ve in my ignorance preached the importance of age specific ministry in a effort to create a space for next-gen but now I think that was birthed out my desire for inclusion.
In my anger and frustration I’ve accused the older of being complacent, irresponsible, bad stewardship
But never accused my generation of being immature, arrogant or lacking wisdom.
Slide: Picture of Grandpa
That just how God had put him and my grandma together he put me and my wife together.
Because of his experience he was able to give me hope in a season I didn’t have any

Psalms 78:5-8 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, 6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.

7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. 8 They would not be like their ancestors—a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.

Main-point: Every Generation has the responsibility to proclaim to the next generation the mighty works that God has done.

Slide: The Generation Who Didn’t Know God
(Judges 2:8-13)
Sometime we don't share our stories because we think what has happened in our life isn’t that important
What god has done in your life is no small feat
If we don’t share what God has done in our lives there a chance they won’t know who he is.
3 values to remember

We are all called to make a disciple
Our willingness of unwillingness to share our story will directly effect the next generation. And if we want them to be all God has called them to set aside our none essentials, our option, and preferences and be bold enough to partner with the generations that came before us , with us , after us and those yet to come.
