2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

Introduction:

There was a group of men who went to work in a dark mine in Kentucky. Each man in the group had a particular job to do. One man was to swing the pick and break apart the rock and another was to collect the rocks and haul them off. One man had the job of keeping the light going so others could see what they were doing. He had one match and a stack of candles. As one candle would go out, he would take a new candle and light it from the one that was going out.
One day the light man fell asleep while the others were working and the candle went out. With no match to light a new candle they were all left in the dark with no idea of how to get out.
This is the danger of not passing the flame from one candle to the next.
And so it is with us, if we keep what God has done for us to ourselves, we are letting people stay in the dark, especially our children and grandchildren.
In his book Bows and Arrows Dr. Bryan Cutshall uses Psalm 127 to depict the younger generation as arrows to be launched forward toward the enemies at the gate, while the older generation represents the bows that launch and guide them. The value of the bow lies in its ability to be guided, take instruction, and not easily be offended when corrected. The bow represents wisdom, skill, and process of the tried and true previous generation. The bow is not designed to be used alone and so it is with us.
Today, I want to talk about the importance of passing it on.
So just what is it that we need to pass on?

Theology

2 Timothy 4:3 “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.”
We must preach sound doctrine
People will fall for anything
Social Media can make things sound so good
God does nothing without telling his prophets
Theology must line up to the Word
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 NLT
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
God has been good to us and given us His Word to read and study and apply to our lives.
Someone took time to share the Word with us, we come every Wednesday and Sunday and many of you read the Word every day.
We have also seen how God has moved in our lives and the lives of others.
We not only know about God from his Word but from what we have personally seen.
Our theology is our study of God and that is worth passing on!

Pentecostal Heritage

Psalm 16:6 NLT
The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!
Judges 2:10 NLT
After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.
Our children have been misled by the media
recent trip to where it all started
“Like a Mighty Army”
our children need the word of god not Tik Tok , facebook, instagram, and snapchat
they need Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Revelation, Acts, Romans, Corinthians, Galatians
They need to hear mom and dad praying aloud and praying in tongues
they need to see mom and dad lifting up holy hands and worshipping God
They need to see mom and dad broken at the altar for a hurt and dying world

Commitment

Revelation 2:10 NLT
Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will throw some of you into prison to test you. You will suffer for ten days. But if you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life.
to some people church is just a place to go
to some church is nothing more that a social hour
Its okay to miss or just come when its convenient
There is no commitment
Commitment must be a part of who we are so we can pass it on to others
Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Never stop praying.”
Generosity
Luke 6:38 “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.””
Harvest
Matthew 28:19–20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””
Relationships
Romans 12:5 “so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.”

Father and Son Survive Night in Wilderness Thanks to ‘Miracle’ Backpack Left Behind by Previously Lost Teen
LEVI DITTMAN LEFT THE BACKPACK BEHIND WHILE LOST IN JANUARY, ONLY FOR THE BAG TO BE FOUND MORE THAN A MONTH LATER BY JULIAN HERNANDEZ AND HIS 12-YEAR-OLD SON
A father is opening up about how he and his son survived a night in the Utah wilderness thanks to some help from a backpack left behind by a teen who previously got lost in the same area.
Julian Hernandez and his 12-year-old son were in the Red Mountain area near Snow Canyon State Park in Washington County on Sunday, Feb. 16, when the pair got lost, according to FOX affiliate KSTU.
The dad said he and his son were in a “tough situation” due to the frigid temperatures when they stumbled upon a backpack.
The backpack — which contained items such as snacks, a first aid kit, a tent and other emergency supplies — was left behind by 15-year-old Levi Dittman, who had gotten lost in the same area in early January, according to ABC affiliate KTVX
At the time, Levi tossed his backpack after he was stuck on a ledge overnight — hoping to remember it later. But he was unable to retrieve the bag when he was rescued, which “was a bit frustrating” because he spent two months filling it with nearly $300 worth of items.
More than a month later, Hernandez said most of those items helped him and his son survive their ordeal. “We didn’t have the proper things,” the dad told the outlet.
The two even used emergency blankets they found inside the bag to keep warm while they were stuck outside for 22 hours, according to KTSU.
Ultimately, Levi was “really glad” to learn his backpack had helped someone survive a chilly night in the wilderness, according to KSTU. “That’s what the pack was intended for,” he said.
Levi’s mother Gretchen described the situation as a “miracle,” per KTVX. “You really have to have faith that God’s working,” she added.
Meanwhile, Hernandez remains grateful and plans to “give back to the community, just like they did with us,” KSTU reported. He also hopes to meet Levi in the future.

What are we leaving behind?
