Ephesians 2:8–9 (NLT)
8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Faith: “trusting, believing, or taking God at His Word; having a confident assurance of unseen things”
Salvation: “deliverance from the power and effects of sin through the person and work of Jesus Christ”
Grace: “undeserved and unmerited favor”
II. Why Do We Need To Be Saved?
Romans 3:23 (NLT)
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
a. Because we have sinned
Romans 6:23 (NLT)
23 For the wages of sin is death…
b. Because the payment for sin is death
III. How Can We Be Saved?
Romans 6:23 (NLT)
23 ...but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 3:16 (NLT)
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 (NLT)
8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT)
21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
