Cross Over Into The NEW

Opening Scripture:

Deuteronomy 11:11–14 NLT

Rather, the land you will soon take over is a land of hills and valleys with plenty of rain—a land that the Lord your God cares for. He watches over it through each season of the year! “If you carefully obey the commands I am giving you today, and if you love the Lord your God and serve him with all your heart and soul, then he will send the rains in their proper seasons—the early and late rains—so you can bring in your harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil.

God delivered Israel from the oppression of the Egyptians by raising up for them a leader who was capable of hearing the voice of God.

Israel at first doubted when Moses first came to them with the word of the Lord BUT God gave Moses His very own signature to prove to the people that this message was truly from The Lord.

Once Israel recieved the news from Moses that God was about to deliver them from their oppressors they became excited.

As they set out on their own they then realized it wasn’t as easy as they thought it was going to be

Israel had the promise but they didn’t expect the journey

The book of Deuteronomy is a book of speeches/teachings given to Israel by Moses right before they crossed the Jordan

God always prepares us for the NEW by making the Vision known.

We MUST obey God through the process and when we enter into the promise!

The moment we disobey God the blessing will begin to wither up and die.

God Goes Before You!

Deuteronomy 31:3

“But the Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy the nations living there, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua will lead you across the river, just as the Lord promised.”

When God gives us a promise there is no enemy that can prevent us from stepping into it!

God himself goes before us fighting on our behalf to make provision for the promise

God will NOT only remove our enemies He will eradicate them.

Often times we get in God’s way trying to fight the battle on our own not realizing that it requires God to fight it on our behalf

God will always gain the victory!

Don’t enter in the NEW without God who wants to fight for you!

Don’t enter the NEW to only have your blessing delayed because of your lack of faith and obedience to God.

Prepare For The Waves

Mark 4:35–41 NLT

As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”

Jesus gives a clear instruction to cross over to the other side…

As they got in the boat and set out others who were at the meeting with Jesus set out in different boats.

Jesus gets comfy and begins to take a nap

In the midst of the disciples setting out I am sure they were unaware of the waves that were about to come against them in the midst of the storm

As the storm came and the waves came crashing into the boat they became fearful and angry…

They were fearful that they were going to drown and that their lives were in danger.

They were angry because Jesus was calm and napping in the back of the boat.

Their fear and anger produced an action…. A cry for help

Jesus response was to rebuke the waves and the storm (what was producing the fear)

Jesus then questioned why they were afraid and were they still lacking in Faith? (A correction to their emotions)

Often times we get scared of the puddles that are produced from the waves

We forget that in the midst of the journey we are going to face some storms BUT we already have the VICTORY in Jesus name Because there is a promise!!

Stop letting the size of the storm, the sound of the waves, and the puddles the wave produce get in the way of God moving you through the storm quickly!

Transforming For The New

Scripture teaches us that WE are NEW in Christ Jesus!

In order for transformation to take place within me I must fully let go and trust God in my life.

I have to die to the former things and accept the NEW

To put on the NEW I must put on Christ

By putting on Jesus I put on Victory!

By Putting on Jesus I put on Salvation

By Putting on Jesus I put on Grace

By Putting on Jesus I put on Favor

Until I fully put on Jesus I will NOT be fully transformed into the New!

Are you ready to embark on this journey of newness

It’s NOT Easy BUT it is possible! Because there is a PROMISE FOR YOU!!!!
