Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in
your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. NLT Romans 12:3
3 For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

Check your ego
4 The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, honor, and life.

Stay out of the fandom of your own press ( You can mess yourself up terribly)
2 When pride comes, then comes dishonor; But with the humble there is wisdom.
Our humility should be a wardrobe of authenticity
12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience;
5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God is opposed to the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.
Authentic Humility drives empathy for others
3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
Proper positioned humility brings exaltation at the proper time
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time,

Make sure your calculations aren’t motivated by faulty thinking
Make sure your calculations aren’t motivated by faulty influences
Make sure your calculations aren’t motivated by your talent and abilities over giftedness
Make sure your calculations aren’t motivated by carnal behaviors including the way we treat and talk to people whom we feel are beneath us
Poor calculations and faulty measurements derails the ability to hear God word and trust HIM as the sole Authority. The Holy Spirit has been given a difficult time trying to work through us when we grieve HIM. It cautions a need for a renewed heart.
26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put My Spirit within you and bring it about that you walk in My statutes, and are careful and follow My ordinances. 28 And you will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.
30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
But…
Make sure that Christ mission is our hearts desire.

Walking the Spirit
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
Learn to use God’s measurement by the faith.
He gives the measurement and it’s dangerous to add your methods of measurement to God’s. It is also a spiritual deficiency to think you are capable of being the standard of measurement.
Paul Points To Heed
•Remember the mercies of God
•Presentation to God must be Holy and Acceptable (Because he’s done so much for us)
•You are a living sacrifice
•Don’t Imitate the world, let God transform you
•Changing the way you think, learn what pleases God
•Don’t over-appraise yourself, you’ll develop spiritual amnesia and forget grace over your personal desires.
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
