Main Text: Job 1:6-12, Job 2:1-6
Job 1:6–12 (NLT)
6 One day the members of the heavenly court came to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them. 7 “Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan. Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”
8 Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”
9 Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God. 10 You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is! 11 But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”
12 “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
Job 2:1–6 (NLT)
One day the members of the heavenly court came again to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them. 2 “Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan.
Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.” – 1 Peter 5:8 – Like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.
3 Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil. And he has maintained his integrity, even though you urged me to harm him without cause.”
4 Satan replied to the Lord, “Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life. 5 But reach out and take away his health, and he will surely curse you to your face!”
6 “All right, do with him as you please,” the Lordsaid to Satan. “But spare his life.”

INTRODUCTION: THE SPIRITUAL COURTROOM

The devil is a legalist. He does not operate outside of legal grounds.
The unseen realm operates under divine laws and principles—sin, agreement (covenant), and disobedience can open the door to Satan.
Tension Statement: Have you ever felt like something was blocking your breakthrough? Could it be that the enemy has legal access to your life?

I. THE DEVIL OPERATES THROUGH LEGAL ACCESS

A. Satan’s Accusations Are Based on Legal Grounds or legal permission.

Job 1:6-12 – Satan could not touch Job without divine permission.
Zechariah 3:1-2 – Satan accused Joshua the high priest in the heavenly courtroom. (Who was Joshua – son of Jozadek -High Priest of Israel)
Then the angel showed me Joshua the high priest (representative of Israel) standing before the angel of the Lord (pre-encarnate Christ). The Accuser, Satan, was there at the angel’s right hand, making accusations against Jeshua. And the Lord said to Satan, “I, the Lord, reject your accusations, Satan. Yes, the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you. This man is like a burning stick that has been snatched from the fire.”” (Zechariah 3:1–2, NLT)
Revelation 12:10 – He is the “accuser of the brethren” before God.
Then I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come—the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out!” (Revelation 12:10, AMP)
Greek – Kategoreo – To Speak in the assembly – 10 times used as the word accuse.

B.  If Satan needs legal access to attack, what doors have been left open in your life?

The enemy does not just attack randomly; he operates where he has a claim or an open door.
Every area of disobedience, unrepented sin, or curse becomes a spiritual legal document he can use against you.

II. HOW WE GIVE SATAN LEGAL ACCESS

A. Disobedience and Sin Give Him Authority

Genesis 3:1-7 – Adam and Eve’s sin transferred dominion to Satan.
The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’ ” “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful, and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So, she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.” (Genesis 3:1–7, NLT)
Mankind became a slave to sin because of the actions of one man.
Romans 6:16 – “You are slaves to whom you obey.”
Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.” (Romans 6:16, NLT)
Unrepentant sin – sin that goes unconfessed or turned away from.

B. Unforgiveness and Bitterness Open Doors

Ephesians 4:26-27 – Anger gives “topos” (legal place) to the devil.
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:26–27, NLT)
2 Corinthians 2:10-11 – Unforgiveness gives Satan an advantage.
If you forgive anyone anything, I too forgive that one; and what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sakes in the presence [and with the approval] of Christ (the Messiah), To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions.” (2 Corinthians 2:10–11, AMP)

C. The enemy has no power over you unless you give it to him! Where have you allowed access?

Some struggles persist not because you lack faith but because you gave the enemy a key to your life.

III. HOW TO REVOKE SATAN’S LEGAL ACCESS

A. Repentance and Confession

1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive.”
If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].” (1 John 1:9, AMP)
·James 4:7 – “Submit to God, resistthe devil, and he will flee.”

B. Renouncing Agreements with Darkness

Colossians 2:14-15 – Christ canceled the legal demands against us.
He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.” (Colossians 2:14–15, NLT)
13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13 NLT
2 Corinthians 6:14-17 – Do not be yoked with darkness.
Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers (apistos – unfaithful or unbelievers). How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.” (2 Corinthians 6:14–17, NLT)
When you are partnered with someone who is unfaithful you are agreeing with their lifestyle and sin.
C. Walking in Divine Authority
Luke 10:19 – Authority to trample on serpents and scorpions.
Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” (Luke 10:19, NLT)
You cannot stand in authority of you are opening the door to the enemy (frenemy). You only have power over what you have revoked access to.
Romans 8:1-2 – No condemnation in Christ; freedom through the Spirit.
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” (Romans 8:1–2, NLT)
D. The enemy doesn’t just leave because you want him to—he leaves when you remove his legal rights!
You must close every door, renounce every agreement, and walk in holiness to stay free.

CONCLUSION: CLOSE THE DOOR NOW!
