I. The Power of Our Tongue

Great responsibility for teachers
teaching is an honor
must use words carefully
will receive a stricter judgment
Everyone stumbles in controlling their tongue
should be humbling to those who desire to teach
should be humbling to those who think they can control theirs
Small things can have great impact
bits and bridles
rudders on ships
tongues of men

II. The Destructive Nature of Our Tongue

A small spark of fire can consume completely
Untamable by man
A deadly poison

III. The Potential of Our Tongues for Good

Can pronounce blessings
Man can’t tame it but the Holy Spirit can
Can proclaim the life-giving Gospel of Jesus Christ
