V1-5Unsure wether if he has a revelation from HS or if he quoting a prophecy that has already been spoken.
That some will depart from the faith, we see this today.
False teachers are teaching bad doctrine to not marry or eat certain foods, the motive why is unclear for not marrying maybe a false teaching that says it is more holy, to not marry and eat certain foods
If we think back to genesis everything God created was good, What was the only thing that wasn't considered good.
The emphasis here seems to be not asking God to bless the meal, but rather too be thankful for the blessing in which God provided to eat and drink. Its goof for us to pray before we eat but to just do it as a ritual.
V6 Here we see the letter shifting focus on instructions to timothy he says do these things and you will be a faithful servant, so his main role is too instruct the brethren, Not just in a Sunday sermon or a classroom setting but in thier life the way they carry themselves, the things they do the way they speak. For Timothy to do this he must remain anchored in Gods word.

The word train is the Gk verb gumnazō, from which we get gymnasium. It requires discipline, hard work, and sacrifice.
So bodily training is of some value, but spiritual training is of more because one day this earth will pass away and everything along with it, but Heaven is for eternity.
