I NEED TO Pray and Fast!!

BACKGROUND

Yeah so as Pastor Harvey said I have been blessed to have with the opportunity to take a mission trip to the Philippines this summer.

I have been praying about this opportunity for a long time and a month or so ago I was fortunate enough to get a spot on one of the mission trips teams.

Yeah so when I first stumbled on this mission trip at the end of last year, I had a passion for missions on my heart for a long time and still do, and I want to share this trip with you, the church, and ask for your blessing in it.

MISSION INFO

So yeah the mission trip is June 5 - 29 and is based in the Philippines

The mission trip is considered a evangelistic and church-planting mission trip where our teams would partner with local churches to spread the gospel through our testimonies, drama, sports, and music.

The goal of this trip is to build up fellow believers and encourage them to become disciple-makers and global senders.

After the 4 day training and orientation, we will be flying to either Camiguin or Soccoro Island. Where we will be traveling and ministering and several rural communities and villages over 16 days, then the last two days are a on field debrief with the other teams that accompanied us.

In these villages were visiting we are going to interact with the locals and learn about the Filipino culture and share our own personal testimonies to hopefully help encourage them.

I don’t know a whole lot more specific information than that due to them trying to keep us safe and the missionaries already there safe, but you know I am just excited to minister in a region where many are eager to hear the Gospel, this trip for me is a way to personally experience other culture, and to experience missions first hand through Gods guidance.

ASK FOR SUPPORT

But the main reason I am sharing this with you is to ask for your support as a church body through prayer. The bible makes it clear that there is great power when believers unite in prayer - Look at James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.” - this reminds us that our collective prayer carry's deep spiritual impact. So I ask that you pray me and the fellow believes on this trip for our protection, wisdom, boldness, spiritual readiness, and above all a lasting impact in the hearts of those we serve.

And unfortunately staying in the Philippines and flying there and back does cost a good bit of money. I have them all up on the screen, and the mission trip comes with expenses like travel, lodging, flights, and food. In total the mission trip will cost around 3,600 dollars, and I want to be totally transparent with you so on the way out I have a flier that breaks down that cost for everything on the trip.

And on (Fundraiser date), we are going to host a fundraiser, and I am fortunate enough to have a dad who is alright at piano so we are going to do a concert
