When we, as believers, come to an understanding of the true nature of our sin how do we respond? When I look at myself and see the slothfulness, selfishness, pride and countless other sins that oozes from my existence upon this earth how should I respond, truly? In terror? In shame? Or, as the Father has called me to, in love? What a God we serve!
READ THE PASSAGE
I have had the beautiful privlege to grow up in a world inwhich the Word of God has always surronded me. I was baptized as an infant and raised in a home that loved and feared God. When you grow up in a home like that you become familar with the Bible in a way that is like knowing how to get around your home town. I recoginze things, and take it for granted the things that have always been there. So, when I grow up with there being four Gospels, four accounts of the life of Christ, that’s just how things are. It is not until you start seeking out questions, which then leads to more questions, that how many complexities the Word of God has.
Matthew serves the purpose
So, when we come to the Gospel of Luke we need to ask ourselves today the purpose of this specific account.
