Follow Me: The Invitation of Christ

INTRODUCTION TO SERES

Come and See

CONNECTION

The power of an invitation — Leah inviting me to a football game. Best invite of her life.
Or Jeremiah inviting me to jujitsu — or Leah inviting me to church.
Some of the best moments I’ve ever experience in my life are the result of an invitation.
That’s true for you too right?
party meet your wife
to coffee and it turned into a job
to the gym and you got on a plan and lost the weight
church and it changed your life
If you think about it. Some of life's biggest moments are the result of an invitation. That’s not a church thing, that’s just a life thing.

TENSION

But here’s the thing… for every life-changing invitation we’ve accepted, I wonder how many we’ve ignored?
How many moments of purpose, connection, or transformation did we miss—because we were too busy, too comfortable, or too unsure to say yes?
Some invitations seem small and insignificant, but they have the potential to be life changing.
Peter, Andrew James and John — they were not looking for a new mission or for a purpose, they felt they found it as fishermen. But then Jesus shows up. And He invites them—not to a game, not to a coffee, but to something so much bigger.
That’s what God does, He invites each of us to something so much bigger —
Luke records this in detail.
