Think of these donuts holes - no big deal if you have one or two or even 5 or 6 but what if you had this whole box with in a day - you would feel yuck, weighed down!
These donuts holes are just like sin - you think oh a sin here a sin there , no big deal, but then another than another. Then you feel burdened by your sin, you feel weighed down.
The first thing is to realize that Jesus died for your sins,
Jesus lived a perfect life on this earth, he then went to the cross for us. He was the sacrificial lamb. He died for you, He died for me. He shed his blood for you so no longer need to carry the weight of your sin. So how does this work?
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
Jesus wants a relationship with you. Jesus loves you and died for you and rose up from the grave so that we can have a relationship with him. All you have to do is ask. Repent of your sins, asking him to forgive you and ask him to be your lord and saviour. Surrender to him. When you do that the burden is lifted. You can do that today.
No those of us that are saved - Jesus tells us to lay aside every weight in Hebrews 12:1
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
– in Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you;
In 1 Peter 5:7
casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
What is weighing heavy on your shoulders today? Is it a life situation? A team or performance situation?
Why have you not given it over to God?
“God, You are strong enough to carry any burden we have.
Remove any pride that might stop us from asking and receiving Your help.
Give it to Jesus!
Let us pray
