Christ’s Authority on Display

Healing the sick and casting out demons demonstrated Christ’s authority.
See Matthew 7:28–29...
Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

The Right Response to the Touch of Christ

After Christ touches us, we should also rise to serve Him.
Romans 12:1 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
2 Corinthians 5:14–15 “For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”

Full Atonement, Can it Be?

The means of reconciliation between God and people. Emerges in the Old Testament as part of the sacrificial system; re-framed exclusively around the person and work of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. Atonement is one of the few theological terms with roots in the English language. It is the process by which two (typically estranged) parties are made “at-one” with each other.
It is through the suffering of Christ that we are healed and forgiven.
See Isaiah 53:4-6...
Satan (Hebrews 2:14), sin (John 1:29), sickness (Matthew 8:17), and death (John 11:25-26) have been defeated by the atoning, sacrificial death and glorious resurrection of Christ.
Because we live in a fallen world and fleshly bodies, we still struggle with these enemies.
See Romans 8:18-25...
Those who have repented and placed their faith in Christ have been saved from the penalty of sin (justification), are being saved from the power of sin (sanctification), and will be saved from the presence of sin (glorification).
We will one day be fully and finally delivered from these enemies.
1 Corinthians 15:25–26 “For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.”
1 Corinthians 15:54–55 “When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?””
See Revelation 21:3-5...
