Key Story: Saul and the Witch of Endor
1 Samuel 28:7-19
1 Samuel 28:7–19 ESV
Then Saul said to his servants, “Seek out for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her.” And his servants said to him, “Behold, there is a medium at En-dor.” So Saul disguised himself and put on other garments and went, he and two men with him. And they came to the woman by night. And he said, “Divine for me by a spirit and bring up for me whomever I shall name to you.” The woman said to him, “Surely you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off the mediums and the necromancers from the land. Why then are you laying a trap for my life to bring about my death?” But Saul swore to her by the Lord, “As the Lord lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this thing.” Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up for you?” He said, “Bring up Samuel for me.” When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman said to Saul, “Why have you deceived me? You are Saul.” The king said to her, “Do not be afraid. What do you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I see a god coming up out of the earth.” He said to her, “What is his appearance?” And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is wrapped in a robe.” And Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground and paid homage. Then Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” Saul answered, “I am in great distress, for the Philistines are warring against me, and God has turned away from me and answers me no more, either by prophets or by dreams. Therefore I have summoned you to tell me what I shall do.” And Samuel said, “Why then do you ask me, since the Lord has turned from you and become your enemy? The Lord has done to you as he spoke by me, for the Lord has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, David. Because you did not obey the voice of the Lord and did not carry out his fierce wrath against Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you this day. Moreover, the Lord will give Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me. The Lord will give the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines.”

INTRODUCTION: WHAT ARE YOU IN AGREEMENT WITH?

In the realm of the Spirit, nothing happens without agreement!
The kingdom of God operates by agreement (Matthew 18:19), and so does the kingdom of darkness.
Matthew 18:19 ESV
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
Tension Statement: Could it be that the reason for your struggles is not the enemy attacking you, but a hidden agreement that gave him permission?

I. THE POWER OF AGREEMENTS IN THE SPIRIT REALM

A. Spiritual Agreements Are Legally Binding

Exodus 23:32–33 ESV
You shall make no covenant with them and their gods. They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me; for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”
Deuteronomy 18:10–12 ESV
There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.
Witchcraft and divination bring demonic agreements.
1 Corinthians 10:20-21 – "Fellowship with idols is fellowship with demons."
B. Tension Statement: Every agreement is a doorway—what have you unknowingly agreed to?
When you speak, make vows, or act outside of God's will, you create a contract in the spirit.
Many Christians unknowingly sign spiritual covenants through words, actions, or disobedience.
II. SAUL: A KING WHO MADE THE WRONG AGREEMENT
A. Saul’s Downfall Began with Disobedience
1 Samuel 15:22-23 – "Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft."
Proverbs 26:2 – A curse does not come without a cause.
B. Seeking the Witch of Endor: An Agreement with Darkness
1 Samuel 28:7-19 – Saul goes to the witch because God was silent.
Numbers 14:28 – "As you have spoken in My ears, so I will do."
Saul’s desperation led him to make a covenant with darkness, and it cost him his life.
C. Tension Statement: The enemy will always exploit desperation—where have you compromised?
Have you made secret agreements in moments of fear, pain, or frustration?
Agreements with sin, bitterness, fear, or even the lies of the enemy can become chains.
III. HOW TO BREAK DEMONIC AGREEMENTS
A. Repent and Renounce
Acts 3:19 – Repentance blots out spiritual contracts.
1 John 1:9 – Confession releases legal forgiveness.
B. Break the Agreement with the Blood of Jesus
Colossians 2:14-15 – Jesus canceled the "handwriting of requirements" (legal debts).
Revelation 12:11 – Overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of testimony.
C. Establish a New Agreement with the Kingdom of God
James 4:7 – Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee.
Luke 10:19 – Authority over the power of the enemy.
D. Tension Statement: Satan won’t leave just because you ask—he leaves when his access is revoked!
This is why true deliverance is not an event but a legal transaction.
If you remove the demon but keep the contract, he will return (Matthew 12:43-45).
CONCLUSION: BREAK THE AGREEMENT TODAY!
Self-Examination: What agreements have I made with my words, thoughts, or actions?
Activation Prayer: Lead the congregation in a prayer of renunciation, repentance, and reversal of demonic contracts.
Final Declaration: "In the name of Jesus, I break every demonic agreement over my life. I renounce every word, vow, and action that has given the enemy access. By the blood of Jesus, I cancel every legal claim of Satan over me. I make a new covenant with God—Satan, you have no hold on me! In Jesus’ name, Amen!"
