What is Time?

Introduction: I have a number of questions, that from time to time I ask myself and continue to be intrigued about.
Here is a sample of them
What is gravity? Some say that it is a myth and the earth simply sucks.
What is it that divides us in terms of those that believe the world is flat and those that believe it is round? Some choose to believe one set of evidences and others another set.
Why do we who belong to the same denomination like to categorise members into different camps? The more important apsect of this is, I think, what character defines who we really are?
And the question I want to look at today is What is time? Why should that matter to us?
To begin an examination of time let us consider a possible explanation. From Chat GPT we get an answer like this.
Time is a fundamental concept that helps us to measure and understand the sequence of events, their duration and the interval between them. It is an irreversible progression from the past, through the present and into the future.
Time as a physical property in science is regarded as a different dimension. A flat piece of paper is 2 dimensional, a ball has 3 dimensions the third dimension in which we exist. Time has its own dimension and can be slowed or sped up by the effects of motion and gravity.
As we think of time for ourselves its value is in that it helps us make sense of change.
From an everyday perspective we experience time through the use of clocks , calendars and seasonal cycles.
From a psychological perspective sometimes time seems to move more slowly for eg. when we are bored and quickly when we are engaged in something exciting. Like when we are with our friends and the time to head home arrives too quickly.
Body: So what is the real intrinsic value of time?
It has been put this way by one author.
Time is life and life is time
Waste your time and waste your life
Master your time and master your life.
When you are given time, it essentially means that you have been given an existence. And when you are experiencing life you are living within the dimension of time. If you waste your time and do little with your opportunity, you are in effect wasting your life and missing out on the experiences and successes you might otherwise have. You can lose out on developing some valuable skills. If you on the other hand, you master the use of your time, you then also have some control over the direction and quality of your life.
