If Jesus, the Son of God, relied on Scripture to stand firm, how much more should we? This sermon will emphasize the importance of knowing, reading, and living by God's Word, so that when temptation comes, we are prepared to respond with truth.

He was onto something… Word’s have POWER...
And if words have that kind of power… then the question is Which Word’s Are Shaping Us?
- Are we being formed by God’s truth? Or letting the wrong voices speak into our lives? Because we’re all being shaped by something...

A single conversation can change a relationship with someone.
Word’s as a kid affecting you today
Word’s we speak to ourselves … About our past / Present / Future
But sometimes...
God: Sometimes the most powerful words are the word’s God has already spoken

There’s so much we can pull from Jesus’ word’s when He is being tempted...
Matthew 4:1-11 -
But the one to focus on today is that Jesus doesn’t win this battle with something new—He wins it with something old.
Deuteronomy 8:3 -

It is God’s word and only God’s word that has the power to fight
He didn’t come up with something clever, an argument, or strength… He won with something old, tested, and unshakable… God’s Word!
You: When temptation comes, when life get’s hard, when doubts creep in… What are you standing on?

Some of us are standing on opinions
Some of us are standing on feelings
Some of us are standing on culture
OR you can stand on the daily Word of God…
BUT it’s not just about knowing scripture.
**PAUSE FOR 2 TYPES OF PEOPLE**
Alot of people know scripture but...
We: What kind of people would we be if we actually lived this out together?"

What if we actually lived this out together? Because we’re not meant to do this alone.
So many people say “Let’s go back to the church in the Bible...” But here’s the truth… We need to go back to being the church that stands on God’s word
BECAUSE ONLY THEN WILL WE BE THE CHURCH WE’RE SUPPOSED TO BE TODAY
