THE KEY TO PEACE IN YOUR LIFE

INTRODUCTION:

PHILIPPIANS CHAPTER 4 PAUL EMPHASIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING GOD’S PEACE. WE ARE IN A WORLD THAT IS DIVIDED AND AND MOST PEOPLE LIVE IN UNCERTAINTY WHICH CAUSE THEM TO BE OVERWHELM WITH WORRY AND FEAR.

PAUL SAID THE KEY TO HAVING PEACE IN YOUR LIFE

YOU MUST STAND FAST IN THE LORD.

YOU MUST BE OF THE SAME MIND.

YOU MUST PUT EVERYTHING IN PRAYER.

A. YOU MUST STAND FAST IN THE LORD.

Philippians 4:1 “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.”

THE WORD STAND FAST MEANS TO STAND FIRM, PERSIST, PERSEVERE.

Philippians 3:2 “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.”

PAUL WAS WARNING THE SAINTS IN PHILIPPI TO BE CAREFUL OF THOSE WHO CLAIM TO TO BE A SAINT, BECAUSE THESE ARE THOSE WHO CAN INTERFERE WITH YOUR PEACE. PAUL KNEW THAT RELIGION CAN MAKE YOU A ENEMY OF THE CROSS.

WE MUST BE CAREFUL OF WHO WE LINK UP WITH BECAUSE EVERYONE DOES NOT HAVE GOD’S HEART. WHEN YOU FIND YOURSELF IN A UNCOMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT, YOU USUALLY COMPROMISE YOUR FAITH AND YOUR PEACE.

WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO STAND IN THE LORD EVEN IF THINGS ARE UNCERTAIN IN OUR LIVES. WHEN TEMPTATION COME YOUR WAY, YOU HAVE TO STAND FIRM IN THE LORD.

HOW DO YOU STAND FIRM IN THE LORD?

BY WALKING IN THE LORD. WHEN YOU WALK IN THE LORD, YOUR MIND AND YOUR THOUGHTS ARE IN THE LORD. PEACE HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOUR MIND IS STAYED ON THE LORD.

Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

B. WE MUST BE OF THE SAME MIND.

Philippians 4:2–3 “I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.”

THE WAY TO PEACE, WE MUST LEARN HOW TO BE UNIFIED WITH ONE ANOTHER AND NOT SEPARATE FROM EACH OTHER. THE POWER IS IN TOGETHERNESS. EUODIAS AND SYNTYCHE WAS AT ODDS WITH ONE ANOTHER AND PAUL SAID THE ONLY WAY THAT THEY WILL EXPERIENCE GOD’S PEACE THEY MUST BE OF THE SAME MIND AND THAT’S CHRIST MIND.

WHEN YOU HOLD GRUDGES AGAINST EACH OTHER, YOU ARE MAKING THAT INDIVIDUAL IN YOUR LIFE MORE IMPORTANT THEN GOD.

WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO AGREE TO DISAGREE AND STILL HAVE LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER. WHEN YOU’RE DOING GOD’S WORK, YOU DON’T HAVE TIME TO BE CAUGHT UP IN FOOLISHNESS.

WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD, AND WE HAVE THE SAME COMMON GOAL AND THAT IS TO LIVE FOR CHRIST. MOST DISAGREEMENTS HAPPEN WHEN SOMEONE HAVE TO BE RIGHT.

Philippians 1:27 “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;”

C. WE MUST PUT EVERYTHING IN PRAYER.

Philippians 4:6–8 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

THE ONE THING THAT CAN DESTROY OUR PEACE IS WORRY.

WHEN WORRY HAVE A GRIP ON YOU , YOU ARE DISTRACTED TO ONLY WHAT YOU ARE CONCERN WITH. WORRY IS A SIN, BECAUSE IT SHOWS YOUR LACK OF FAITH IN GOD. GOD DO NOT WANT US TO WORRY, BECAUSE HE WANTS US TO SEEK HIS GUIDANCE SO THAT WE NO LONGER HAVE TO CARRY THE WEIGHT OF WORRY.

GOD WANTS US TO BRING EVERYTHING TO HIM IN PRAYER. WHEN YOU DO THIS , YOU’RE TRUSTING GOD WITH THE SITUATION AND PUTTING GOD OVER THE SITUATION.

GOD IS A KEEPER TO THOSE WHO SEEK HIM IN PRAYER, GOD WILL GUARD YOUR MIND AND HEARTS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS. PRAYER ALWAYS BRING PEACE TO ANY SITUATION. GOD WILL DELIVERY YOU WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR REQUESTS MADE KNOWN UNTO HIM.

PRAYER IS THE ANSWER TO PEACE IN YOUR LIVES, BECAUSE WHEN YOU’RE PRAYING IT IS NO ROOM FOR WORRY. YOU CAN TELL WHEN PEOPLE DON’T HAVE A PRAYER LIFE, THEY WORRY AND COMPLAIN ALL THE TIME.

WHEN YOUR MIND IS STAYED ON THINGS THAT ARE POSITIVE AND NOT NEGATIVE, YOU WILLEXPERIENCE THE EACE OF GOD ON A DAILY BASIS.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
