Straight and Narrow

Okay guys! On a scale from one to ten, how hard is it to survive on this earth? How hard is it to always do good? Or to always obey our parents? How hard is it to always trust in God? To always be a good person? It is very hard, isn’t it?! We have learned in many lessons down here that God calls us to obey our parents, to trust in him, to tell others about Jesus and follow him. But sometimes the things of the world may send us astray. We get into bad friend groups or we learn bad habits. What does the Bible say about living right and what we are to do?

Matthew 7:13–14 NLT

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

What does this mean? What is the narrow gate?

Heaven! We go through this life on earth and when we pass away we will either go to Heaven or hell. Those that believe in who Jesus is and chose to follow him go to Heaven, and those that choose to not go to the bad place. So what does the first part of this verse say?

Matthew 7:13 NLT

Many people will not enter Heaven. But why? Because it is hard to live for Jesus, and many choose to live life without Jesus. But it comes with a huge cost. But narrow is the Heavens gate. What is narrow? It is smaller, thinner, fewer people. Only those that accept Jesus as their savior and follow him will enter. And the narrow path....is where we are right now! So now while we are on this earth is where we choose to follow him or not.

Only few find it because why? Because it does not go with the world. But remember when Jesus was here, the world rejected Jesus. The world is sinful, and it needs Jesus. But those who choose Jesus are not of the world. And the Bible also says in this world you will have trouble, but he has overcome the world!

So how do we stay on the narrow path? Even when things come our way? We stay focused on Jesus. We pray, read our Bible, follow his word, and keep following Jesus!

There is only one way to Heaven....

John 14:6 NLT
