                                                                        WHATS THE DEAL

                                                            GENESIS 1:1,26-27—2:7

     God created you! he has made you in His own image. He formed you. He took the dirt and clay and molded it in the shape of man and breathed life into it. *HE SAID I CAN DO BETTER AND MADE WOMAN* 

   Notice He created man in His own image vs 27. God is triune, so he created you with a triune nature too. 1 Thess. 5:23. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23, NKJV) .Man is created with Body, Soul, And Spirit

·       THE BODY

    “God formed man of the dust of the ground” well that’s talking about Adam. God didn’t make me. Psalm 139:13–16 “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. (Psalm 139:14–16, NKJV)

 Jeremiah 1:4-5 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

   Is. 49:5. 5 And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb He carefully and wonderfully formed you, knit you in your mothers womb. He made your body into who you are today, and He don’t make mistakes does He? He has a plan and a purpose for those who know Him. So this body is important. Take care of it. 1st Cor. 6;19-20. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

·       THE SOUL.

  “and man became a living soul” more wonderful than the Body is the wonderful soul He created in you. Inside this body He gave us is the real you. I can Know what I see on the outward, I can know what you let me know of you. And that is the soul. Your personality, your quirks, sense of humor whatever it is that makes you, you. that’s your soul. Your soul is made up of your Mind, your Will and your Emotions and it is far more valuable than even this world. Matt.16:26. 6 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

·       THE SPIRIT.

  “He breathed life into man” Life. God is spirit and He breathed His spirit into Adam, giving him life. It is by the spirit we are born  with that we can know Him and He us. With your body you have a world consciousness with your soul you have social and self conscious. With your spirit you have God consciousness. “And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my savior, but the hour comes and now is when the true worshippers shall worship in spirit and truth. The Spirit bares witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.” You cant know God unless you know Him spiritually.

1.         THE PROBLEM. Genesis 2:16-17, 3:1-13

    Sin has entered into the world and we have a problem. Adam has sinned against God and the scripture we just read said in that day will you die. Did he die that day? His body went on living for 100’s of years. His brain was still working. His mind, will, and emotions were ok. But spiritually he did die that day. The spirit departed from him that day. 1st John 5:12. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. Jesus was talking to a bunch of folks whose bodies and wills and emotions were all going just fine and said this John 10:10.The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 

     Death is not the separation of the soul from the body, but rather the spirit from God. That is death. And guess what? We all inherited that same nature from ol Adam. We got the same problem he had. SIN. and because of sin we must die. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;   romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; 

     So we have a problem. We have inherited this horrible disease called sin that leads to certain death. We are dead in our trespasses and sins. We need a cure. How can we have life?

2.         THE CURE.  Jeremiah 8:22

·       It was provided.

    In Gilead they were known for this balm, this healing ointment that apparently had miraculous healing properties. They made it from trees that grew around that area. Now notice we said it was provided. They didn’t have to come up with all these different concoctions and compound them together. You know like rat poison and snake venom. Who would make a medicine out of that? They didn’t have to go out and milk a venomous snake. The cure was provided by the tree. Guess what? Our cure is still provided by a tree. 1 Peter 2:24.  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

·       It was precious.

   To make this balm it took awhile. It could take all day to get 30-40 drops from the tree. It was exceedingly precious. 1 peter 1:18-19 forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

  oh dear friends the cost is priceless. It is precious. His Blood! This cure is free to you, but its not cheap. It is precious.

·       It is Powerful.

   If you go back and read in Jeremiah the people are really sick and he is asking why wont you take this medicine that can cure you? all you have to do is take it its not in short supply. This medicine has the power to save their lives and they aren’t taking it. Jesus blood has the power to cleanse our sins and make us as white as snow. The cure, The cross the blood that was shed for us has the power to cure us and give us life.

    But Jeremiahs burden was that the people weren’t taking the remedy. That was there. Within reach. They weren’t having to travel to get it. It was easy to get. Romans 10:6-10 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  (Romans 10:6–10, NKJV)

  Guess what? You don’t have to go looking for Jesus. he is right there. In your heart in your mouth. His word has been preached to you and put it there! All you hace to do is accept it. He is present.

CONCLUSION. You are fearfully and wonderfully made! In His image! He has formed you and made you into the wonderful person you are. He has a plan and a purpose for you.

    But it doesn’t matter how good you are. How many good deeds you do. They will not measure up. Or you may be here and you know that you haven’t lived righteously. You think that I’ve committed acts so terrible that he doesn’t love me. I can’t be cured. There is no home remedy for sin. sin has separated you from God for all eternity. But praise God He has provided a way to heal us and give us life!

Im afraid that there is some here today that are like those in jeremiahs day. They are sick and the cure is right there on their lips and in their hearts but they haven’t accepted it. Cry out to Him confess The Lord jesus and believe and you will be saved! Its not going to cost you anything. it has already been provided the work is done. Romans 5:6-10 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life (Romans 5:6–10, NKJV)

When you accept the Lord Jesus as your savior you are given life. He is the way the truth and the life. No one can come to the father except by Him. You are facing an eternal death without the giver of life inside you.  

Look at me and listen to what I’m telling you. Stop thinking about what you’re fixing to do or eat. Quit playing and get serious. Hell is eternal. Eternal separation from God. He is the author and finisher of life. Don’t leave here today without giving your life to Him. Satan wants you to think about anything else but your eternity. Christ died for you! Even while you are an enemy, a sinner. Why? Because of His great love for us.
