25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Introduction:
What is is your ultimate goal/dream in life?
According to research, one of the the top dream or goal of a person is to make a significant impact to the world. In this narrative, an unnamed woman made an impact to the society when when she encountered Jesus Christ. Did you know that you can make an impact too? So join me as we discover on how to make an impact to your family, friends and to all people that surrounds you.
Recognize a need of a Savior(v. 25-27)
Exposition:
She has a discharge of blood, making her ceremonially unclean and forbidding her access to the temple.
Twelve years indicates the length of her struggle and suffering.
She has suffered much from many physicians—she spent all she had and did not get better.
She recognized her situation that she is helpless.
Application:
What is your current situation?
Do you recognize your situation right now that you need help?
Surrender your sufferings to Jesus (v.28-29)
Exposition:
The woman also is prohibited to touch a Rabbi
She did not care about the crowd because of her desperation to be healed. She believes that if she could just touch Him or His clothing she could be healed.
Though Jesus was surrounded by the crowd, only one woman connected with Him in faith. Spiritually and physically desperate, she did the unthinkable and unacceptable. She reached out and touched Him, and she did so in faith. She is “instantly” healed and she knows it! She feels it! What extraordinary joy she must have experienced, well and whole for the first time in 12 years! The amazing grace of God through Christ had healed her body just as it heals our soul when we place our faith in Him.
Application:
How did you hear about Jesus? What do you know about Him?
Did you also long to be healed by Jesus?
The woman’s theology may be weak but her faith is strong. How about yours?
(v. 30-34)
Exposition:
Jesus knows he has been touched in a special way because power has gone out from him, which means that he is also conscious of the power working through him. It is not that he loses power as if he were a battery that discharges energy when used. Rather, God’s power is constant (cf. 5:17), and he controls the power going out from Jesus. Jesus knew why he had been touched, and his question is intended to force the woman to come forward publicly, the real test of her faith.
Peter responds incredulously to Jesus’ question: “How are we supposed to know, since you are being squeezed from every direction?” His ignorance heightens the sense of Jesus’ sovereignty over events.
Her trembling is not caused by her fear of a reprimand but by awe over this one with such power. She declares what he has done for her in front of all the people
Jesus does not simply dismiss the woman when he tells her to go “in peace” but bestows on her the peace of restoration, well-being, and salvation.
The verb underlying the English expression “made well” is the Greek word sōzō, which is elsewhere used to describe “salvation.” The use of this word reinforces the relationship between physical healing and spiritual salvation.
Application:
Did you already put your faith in Christ?
Jesus tests the woman faith and she demonstrates it in front of the crowd, how about you, how did you show your faith in the Lord to people?
NOW, did you see how was this woman made an impact? She showed her faith testimony that she was not scared of showing her faith to everyone.
BUT, what’s more interesting about making an impact is the one whom she heard Jesus (verse 27)
there’s no information about the one whom the woman heard Jesus but the result of that was phenomenal. That woman struggled for 12 years took a step to see Jesus and wants healing.

Testimony of Warren Hill
Upon hearing of my call to the foreign mission field, the members of the church appeared disappointed to know that I was to go. However, they gave their approval for me to do so on January 7, 1951. They authorized me to do mission work on the foreign mission field in their name, to baptize converts by their authority, and to receive them to their membership. Not having the means to travel to the foreign mission field, I re-entered the military which I had left after World War II. I had left the military after the war because I knew that the Lord was calling me to do "something" in his service, even though I did not know at the time what that "something" was. I trusted the Lord to do as it is promised in Romans 8:28 “28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”
The first Missionary Baptist church organized in the Philippines, was organized in my home, August 29,1953, on Clark Air Base. The base is leased by the U.S. from the Philippines and operated by the U.S. Air Force. The church was first named the Bible Baptist Church (the choice of the charter members). Its name was later changed to the Angeles Missionary Baptist Church. The church moved to Angeles City in January, 1954. As of Today, there are lots of churches being started and established because of a person who took a step and made an impact.
have you made an impact to someone?
CONCLUSION:
How is your life today? What are the sufferings that you are dealing with? Did you recognize your situation? You can surrender it to Jesus in faith. Having that faith, you should show it to everyone. Jesus does not simply dismiss the woman when he tells her to go “in peace” but bestows on her the peace of restoration, well-being, and salvation. The woman’s theology may be weak but her faith is strong.
