Psalm 119:41–48 “Let Your mercies (faithful/loyal love) come also to me, O Lord— Your salvation according to Your word (promise). 42So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches (insult, ridicule) me, For I trust in Your word. 43And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, For I have hoped in Your ordinances. 44So shall I keep Your law continually, Forever and ever. 45And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts. 46I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed. 47And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love. 48My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, Which I love, And I will meditate on Your statutes.”
The same verse we ended with last time, is brought to mind in this. However I want to look at more the pericope. We see here a complete liberty in obeying the commands of God. James 1:22–25 “ But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” When we walk in obedience to Christ, there is a perfect law we obey. The law of love.
Now even as we know here the psalmist means obeying the law, we know how we see this in Christ. Liberty isn’t freedom to sin, but freedom from sin.

Psalm 119:49–56 “Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. 50 This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life. 51 The proud have me in great derision, Yet I do not turn aside from Your law. 52 I remembered Your judgments of old, O Lord, And have comforted myself. 53 Indignation has taken hold of me Because of the wicked, who forsake Your law. 54 Your statutes have been my songs In the house of my pilgrimage. (singing scripture) 55 I remember Your name in the night, O Lord, And I keep Your law. 56 This has become mine, Because I kept Your precepts.”
I have no logic or argument. I cannot argue or convince God of anything. But I can remind Him (and by virtue of doing so, Myself) of the glory and power of the promises made. Because it reminds me of what I am to do as well.
What are some of your most comforting scriptures. James 4:10 “ Humble yourselves (thyself) in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
When we follow God no matter what, and see how God moves and blesses then how the world rejects him blows our minds. We see how our lives flow when we obey Him, and we wonder why no one else would.

Psalm 119:57–65 “You are my portion, O Lord; I have said that I would keep Your words. 58 I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; Be merciful to me according to Your word. 59 I thought about my ways, And turned my feet to Your testimonies. 60 I made haste, and did not delay To keep Your commandments. 61 The cords of the wicked have bound me, But I have not forgotten Your law. 62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, Because of Your righteous judgments. 63 I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts. 64 The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy; Teach me Your statutes.
I can say this too. Maybe for 5 minutes if that. I can say my heart is to do so, but for me to walk in it, I need to be instructed in it. To understand.

Psalm 119:65–72 “You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your word. 66 Teach me (what?) good judgment and knowledge, For I believe Your commandments. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word. 68 You are good, and do good; Teach me Your statutes. 69 The proud have forged a lie against me, But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart. 70 Their heart is as fat as grease, But I delight in Your law. 71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes. 72 The law of Your mouth is better to me Than thousands of coins of gold and silver.”
So many dismiss teaching (especially greasy hearted rick folks).
Gods simple word is more valuable than anything!
