Good evening everyone it’s so good to be here with you tonight… Getting to worship the Lord together is such a privilege…
Well, my name is Zach Honnen and I am the student and young adult director at our grand Blanc location
And I have the privilege to walk us through a time of prayer
Throughout tonight, we’re going to Make room for short times of reflection, adoration Through prayer…
We have been singing things that we know and believe to be true about God
And we wanna give you a few moments to reflect and continue in that… Through Personal individual prayer…
In this prayer session, I want us to look at God’s sovereignty…
Sovereignty is the supreme authority to govern without external interference. It is total power and control…
To help us understand God’s sovereignty, I’m going to share a few scriptures Share a few thoughts And then we will have individual prayer, followed by continuing and worship together
2 “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
9 remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
…for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
It is so important for us to understand God sovereignty…
Because when we know that He is sovereign. We know that he can keep his promises
When we know these things, we know that we have nothing to fear for God is in control. What can man do to us?
And when we know God is sovereign… We know passages like Romans 8:28 are trustworthy…
28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Because of God’s sovereignty, we know this is true.
That God is incomplete control, and if we are his children, he works out all things to Our good…
Gospel transition:
Gospel transition:
And this was ultimately demonstrated with Jesus on the cross
Jesus was perfect, righteous, holy, and was crucified and condemn falsely
The greatest injustice in human history was committed against Jesus
And that injustice was used for our salvation… for our GOOD
God works at all things to the good of those who love him and believe in him
So as we individually go to God in prayer; Reflect and praise God for his sovereignty, recognize his complete control and mercy
And if you don’t know the Lord today, take the next few moments to Put your faith in Him Romans 10:9 says
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Let’s pray to the Lord praising him for his sovereignty
Bringing things to his feet that need to be submitted to him
Or asking him for salvation Tonight…
