Keys to the Gates #4

We have been guided by God to read (Romans 8) this year.
One big theme in Romans 8 is that we are no longer under the law of sin and death but we are now adopted sons with the Spirit of life.
It goes farther by claiming that we are now in the law of the Spirit of life.
The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.
Spirit = pneuma
The Greek word for “Spirit” is derived from the verb
pneo, meaning “to breathe.”
What is setting your mind on things of the Spirit?
Things of the Spirit produce fruits of Holy Spirit.
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, longsuffering….
Not usually comfortable at first, some not ever comfortable.
The fruit will manifest from within you not outside in.
No matter what you are being led by a spiritual world.
If you set you mind to comfort your flesh then you open yourself up to be led by spirits that hate humans.
Those spirits will partner with your fear to bring you to find a justified hate of others.
The flesh wants instant justice.
The flesh wants bad people to be stopped.
Those spirits will get you to look for what is wrong in others.
9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
It is very tempting to look at things according to law, right and wrong, that is the flesh. Out side in thinking.
You have been given a gift of Holy Spirit who dwells in you.
If you do not have Holy Spirit, you need to only ask, and He will give you His spirit.
Keys to the Gates.
18 “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”
What do these gate have to do with you? You have places in your lives that Hades or darkenss still occupies. It is time for you to bring light and heaven to all places in your life.
These gates are for you to enter and bring heaven to earth where heaven is not yet.
This is His Story being written. In order for His Story to get out there, He wants His sons and daughters to know the keys to invade darkness with Light.
These keys are to open the gates that hell occupies and God’s children are called to occupy and multiply.
The advance of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is expanding and taking new territory and you are part of it.
You are being given keys of the Kingdom to open the gates and bring heaven to earth in every area.
Business, Family, Marriage, Culture, Sciences, Schools, Government and leadership, Cities on Fire for God, taking care of our earth, even churches…
Key #1 Partner with Holy Spirit.
Key #1 Partner with Holy Spirit.
Partnership with Holy Spirit.
Included in partnership with Holy Spirit is the baptism of Holy Spirit.
The first thing Jesus did to equip his followers was to give them a partner.
We do too many things without our partner.
Holy Spirit wants to partner with you in all things of your life.
Key #2 Christ Like Authority.
Key #2 Christ Like Authority.
All things are solved through Christ Like Authority.
Authority, how it works.
What is Authority?
Authority:
This greek word is the exousia.
The power to decide.
The strength and power
With in influence
For the purpose bringing life.
Remember a mind set on the spirit is life.
exousía implies freedom for the community
By what authority do you do these things?
Who gave you this authority?
Authority seems to be the thing they care about more than the power to heal people.
Forgiving sins was this big deal so they wanted to know who gave Him that authority.
Can you lose Authority?
Can you receive Authority?
Can you have authority even if your heart is not in it?
God has authority we do not have nor will we ever.
He gives everyone a measure of authority. (Matt 25:14-29)
Key #3 in Christ.
Key #3 in Christ.
Consider Jordan, a slender high school senior with a tousled mop of blond hair. Raised by a single mother, he is the last child at home, as his older siblings have moved out. With graduation just weeks away, he feels overwhelmed by the looming decisions about college and his future. His classmates label him as "fruity,” “cringy,” or “suss,” making him wonder if their jabs reveal something about himself that he has yet to understand. Most nights, he immerses himself in video games—a virtual world where the troubling questions about his life cannot intrude. Am I already a failure? Do I belong anywhere?
Or Doug, a retired engineer. A year into retirement, Doug fills his days with political talk radio and Facebook conspiracy threads. He expresses his frustrations in social media comment sections, seeking validation. His wife and children often avoid him and find reasons to be away when Doug is home. Once an engineer with a clear purpose, Doug now feels adrift, uncertain of his role or value in a world that has moved on without him.
I can’t be an engineer to my family, so who am I now?
Jacob is a recently fired pastor after his leadership team discovered his addiction to pornography. Now 40 years old, he, his wife Jennifer, and their two sons, Jon and James, are no longer welcome in the community they once were a significant part of. Last month, during a Sunday morning service, the assistant pastor announced that Jacob had been caught looking at pornography in his office the previous week and was asked to step down and not return to the church community. The church took a firm stance, even though Jacob was willing to confess what he had done to everyone and wanted help finding the root of his problem. Ironically, the church's name is Redemption.
Jacob heard God leave Texas with his family and bring them to Seattle to bring a culture of redemption to a church called Redemption. Their family had helped dozens of people through tough challenges like adultery, addictions, and forgiveness, and it was working well. So many testimonies came from their life. Now Jon and James want nothing to do with God. Jennifer has asked for some time away from Jacob.
Jesus, I thought You were with me. I thought that if I followed Your ways, my life would be blessed. What kind of God are you? I thought that if I gave my life to You, You would set me free from my condition. Why are You not giving me mercy? I feel like I don’t even know who You are.
What do all these stories have in common?
